Who’s your carrier splitting up underinsured from uninsured?

My PI friends told me the first thing I need is Med Pay. Then carry the max UM you can because the chances of getting in a wreck with someone with a loaded policy are inherently smaller than one with an underinsured or lack of coverage.

We just switched our insurance location. We pay $1400/6 mo. for two cars with one of those a new one.

Actually, you can have their license suspended until they pay

As an adjuster, I can’t tell you how many times I’ve received a claim wherein the 3P is uninsured and driving with a suspended license when they hit our insured. They don’t give a shite as long as their POS car rolls.

I’ve heard of splitting underinsured from uninsured but I’ve not seen it in practice. Is that a Louisiana policy?

New thing I’m seeing is folks paying monthly and just not paying after the first month. They get their card showing six months of coverage to show the cop on the scene and only after do we find out coverage lapsed for nonpayment.

I actually wrote a letter to the responding officer asking for him to go visit the guy and ticket him and impound his car . Included the letter from liberty mutual and all

Ah, ok. I’m not sure Louisiana let’s you split the coverage like that. My UM premium is literally 1/5 of my liability coverage

Yeah well I gave the ticket to my lawyer and he’s gotten the court date push back 3 times already, I finally got served for trial this past week. We’re making the POS JP officer and the LSP show up for court next week.

Over a improper lane ticket. frick both of them.

Unfortunately, they’ve been doing this for a while in Alabama and Georgia.

If the cops actually started impounding these cars, like they should, that shite would stop with a quickness once the poors figure out the jig is up.

My wife is an insurance agent and always told me that you didn't need UM unless you don't have full coverage. She said the only downside is that the claim counts against you

I agree with her. I don't have it

Not to derail but why have medical coverage if you have good health insurance? I've never understood this?

Mines about $1680 for less coverage, but with a renters policy as well.

Good credit. Geico. MO.

It was $640 in VA until we switched. St. Louis has terrible drivers. Our premium doubled.

Insurance may not pay according to PI friend. Also easier to recoup. Worst case, it pays your deductibles.

Good health insurance and a LT & ST disability policy is enough imo. Unless you need to insure pain and suffering
