Toddy
a few years ago i represented a kid charged with a violent crime
he had no prior and was like 18-20 so i thought he deserved a shot at a normal life. i did some amazing lawyering and the kid got a year in jail. sadly, less than a month after he got out, he was involved in a drug deal gone bad and somebody ended up shot (they later died)
do you think i should feel guilty for that person who died?
i've honestly never even thought about the possibility of guilt until this thread
think about your answer and what it implies for other rights before you respond

As his defense attorney, you should only feel guilt if you didn’t do everything allowed by the law to provide your client with the best defense possible.

As a self-hating gay white liberal "man" you will never be able to understand this but sane people only feel guilt when they have done something wrong

How did you feel after supporting the side committing the Ruby Ridge and Branch Davidian atrocities?

Not really. These people are going to spend the rest of their lives knowing they sold an assault rifle that snuffed out 17 young lives. That must be a tremendous burden to bear.
Playing devils advocate here, now what would have happened if the store keep would have refused to sell this man a product from his shop even though the man was qualified to purchase the item and no reasonable argument prohibited the sale?
Lawsuit that's what...
In hindsight it was the smart move to shut the shop down and liquidate the merchandise. Especially seeing how the they would have been vilified by the press and the unwashed progfilth.

I put more blame on the FBI who had the information about this kid and did nothing with it.

you know.. because 1 million people die everyday in America from gun violence. By that rate, we will all be dead by the end of the year. Thank you America for killing me

Well, cars aren't sold for the purpose of killing things so I don't understand the comparison
I didn't buy any of my guns for the purpose of killing things. I don't even hunt
And. If all goes well. My guns will never be used to kill anything
But if they ever are, it will be the dead thing's fault.

Guilt for what? They did not shoot the 17 victims and the gun was sold legally. If anyone should feel guilty it's whoever dropped the ball at the FBI, because they actually could have made a difference.

Of course not. I'm not sure how you're trying to compare this to a ban on assault weapons though.

i didn't bring up banning assault weapons. wtf
due to my job, a man was allowed to kill another person
due to the job of the gun shop, a man was allowed to kill another person
both involve constitutional rights. you want to limit one. why not the other?
