There are numerous posters in this thread alone confirming what I said, this isn’t some far fetched hyperbole. Also, equating “nobody ultimately thinks it’s a problem” to some variation of “nobody will think of the children!”, good grief.

There isn’t a desire for a real conversation on this board, you live in a fantasy land, anybody who suggests anything is blasted as an out of touch idiot. But if you’re so sure I’m wrong, start it. Make a thread w whatever realistic reasonable non infringing pragmatic suggestions you have to address the problem (including how it’s executed). I’m all ears.

Find a solution that doesn’t cost me money or my rights and I’m all ears. Anything that does either of those is a non-starter.

The odds of your kid dying in a shooting at school are over 1 in 3 million.

There is a higher chance of them being struck and killed by lightning at 1 in 2 million

No, there aren't. Your dislike for their suggestions does not negate them.

There are numerous examples in this thread.

This was your first post in the thread:

quote:

Nobody here thinks it’s a problem, good luck.

You aren't really confused as to why you didn't get discussion from that, are you?

That's not necessary. It was already done in this thread. You showed, again, that you have no desire to have a reasonable discussion.

Not to make light of the situation, but the odds of dying from a bee sting are higher. Are you worried about that?

Non emotional conversations and bats & tackling? Sure thing, man.

You’re so real. So deep.

Thank you for continuing to prove my point. You're not getting a conversation from me because you don't really want one. I'm not wasting the effort on someone who has nothing to offer.

I’m about as open minded a liberal as you’ll ever find when it comes to this issue, and a gun owner myself. I would genuinely love to see a pragmatic well supported convo/thread on this board, if it exists i haven’t seen it (link?). I also believe any realistic progress is going to need some degree of bipartisan support.

But if all you got is “you started it!”, i mean you can tell yourself whatever you want but that doesn’t prove anything.

Those discussions do exist. You're trying to pretend that there's no possibility of it here, and that's why you were called out on it. If you want to see what that actually looks like, try posting anything supporting the Second Amendment on DU.

That isn't "all I got." I'll repeat this, again. You are getting exactly what you offered. I'm not going to give you a discussion if the only thing you contribute is:

"Nobody here thinks it’s a problem, good luck."

It proves that you aren't looking for a discussion. Your continued avoidance of one does so as well.

No, I don't do that.

You can find it on your own. Or don't. I don't really care. It's not remotely important that I prove you wrong on that point.
