Placing blame on inanimate objects versus getting to the root of the problem

You know, if homelessness and mass shootings are a problem, why not fund mental health facilities in America than go after guns? Why not go after the quacks practicing medicine and drugging up society with pills that make so many young Americans hollow emotional vacuums and semi functioning zombies?
We never had these problems before we started prescribing so called happy pills that detach you from human feelings to everyone who has bad days. People just learned to deal with life, and now we’re told we need pills to do that. bullshite, and therein lies a lot of the problem IMO.
You can go on and on with problems plaguing our so called “advanced society” that contribute to crazy shite like these shootings, be it lack of parenting, broken families, a lack of love, lack of God, greed taking priority over raising families with values and love, spending time with kids in actually raising them, etc, etc... but one thing that never adds up is placing blame on a damn inanimate gun for the human problems we are facing in the year 2018.

To put it bluntly, it's a lot easier to make it about guns than it is to tell parents they need to take their psycho kid to see a therapist. Parents/family naturally get defensive, and they're the only ones who can really make that happen in most cases.
I do question why any regular person really needs an assault rifle other than to feel like a badass who owns an assault rifle.

Why not post this on the political board?

To clarify, I'm not advocating banning them. I just don't get it.

Because politics isn’t responsible for mass shootings either.

Very few people take accountability for their actions; it's always the fault of someone/something else

Same thing with cars that can go faster than 70mph.

Because it’s easier to sell republicans on a few hundred dollar military budget and democrats get to scream “muah guns” while knowing nothing will change

We now have made up diseases like fibromyalgia...
Every kid in the world has all of a sudden become ADHD in the past 25 or so years so docs can push pills when that wasn’t an issue before. We were too poor to try the ADHD route when I was a kid. If I acted like an arse, my dad beat the frick out of me with a belt and would explain to me why he did it.
We live in a soft as frick society now.
But also, I think teens largely have nothing to hope for anymore. Nothing to aspire to. Negativity dominates every possible media outlet. Kids are exposed to death and violence more than ever before. I grew up watching boy meets world and shite. Today’s kids grow up watching porn and violence and society has become desensitized to it. White kids are told they’re basically pieces of shite and should apologize for their whiteness. Boys are told they’re pieces of shite and if they compliment a girl they are basically raping them. Kids are now told that the national fricking anthem is racist somehow, but also that if they don’t have life figure out by 10 that they may need to have gender reassignment procedures. Fat, purple haired women dominate our education systems, minorities can basically do whatever the frick they want and play the race card, and we have generations growing up not knowing what the frick is going on.
I’m surprised today’s kids aren’t worse.

Crow, like anything else, if I want an AR styled rifle, can legally have one, then Why not have one. I like firearms, so that’s that.
If you like whiskey, why not get some. Non drinkers will say you don’t need that soooooo.....
See?

The people who will prevent any restrictions on guns, will also prevent you from funding mental health.
There really is no reason to discuss any mass shooting other than a cursory "that's sad" at this point. The juice is worth the squeeze for 2nd amendment supporters, and so this is just how it will be.
Even if you banned all guns, we have so many guns out there already it would probably take 50 years to drop to the level of gun violence in other western countries. On the other hand, it would take 2nd amendment supporters all of one shooting to declare the ban doesnt work.

To be fair, their health insurance is about to get cut or completely ended. So how will they do so?

Agree, how is it this guy cant even legally drink, but it legally allowed to buy an AR-15 from any gunstore or owner.

I approve of this rant.
Mental health is a massive problem that people in our country don't want to address.

Well here is the problem - both sides tend to talk in extremes. It's either "ban all guns" or "guns aren't the problem". Maybe if we can be adults and have a difficult yet constructive conversation about it, then we can prevent or lessen the impact of one of these shootings in the future.

Seriously though, spot the frick on.
Don't dare consider yourself straight and heterosexual. And if you see some weirdo who changed his/her gender, don't stare. What you see is not weird, it's "normal" and you're the weird one.
Life is so fricking backwards these days.

Nope, not based on anywhere else in the western world where gun violence is much lower. Gun control would work if given enough time. The only argument 2a supporters have is that the freedom to own guns is worth the gun violence. I wouldn't even try and argue that point, it's subjective and could be proven true in the future.
