You could easily do it in a place like a school with a couple of pistols and a handful of magazines.
Yeah, you could. It's been done before. I question the idea of a bolt action rifle killing 17 in the hands of a teenager, but a couple pistols and magazines is a different story.

Let's just assume all of this is true - in the hands of an 18 year old novice, an AR-15 is far more deadly.
An 18 year old novice probably doesnt even know how to load a magazine properly if hes a novice.
And no. An 18 year old not knowing how to shoot, is not better than myself with my knowledge and shooting history.
There are young kids that go to gun clubs that could shoot a bolt action better than an AR.
Kids and Adults who have no experience is probably a good thing. They are close proximity and probably miss quite a bit of their shots.
Just like handguns. Im awesome with a rifle, but damn I suck with a semi automatic hand gun. At least not as good as Id like to be. and Im talking close proximity.

Prior to the instagram being taken down, people were posting on his various photos saying what a pos he is. Seems like quite a few people thought it was him, and if it isn’t, why would the profile be taken down?

12 bodies are still in the school unidentified on the ground

hope this isn’t true...but if it is, it means society and decision makers haven’t learned a damn thing since Columbine. That’s been 20 years ago. The difference now, is social media makes it easier to spot these ill people.
Is there nobody filtering this shite?
To be honest though, who would've imagined he would go back to his old high school and do this?

I'm a parent and can't imagine anything worse if you haven't heard from your child yet.

Same, it would be devastating and heartbreaking.

So an innocent person doesn't have to deal with society's abuse.
Remember the black guy in Ohio after the Nazi ran over all those people?

Think about what you’re saying, though. It isn’t illegal to be a weirdo on social media and it shouldn’t be. We can’t monitor people all day every day.
You can monitor any damn thing you want if it’s posted on a public forum. Sounds like a great opportunity to create jobs. Hell, computer software can detect this shite.
I’m not saying it should be illegal to pose with guns. But why can’t you flag people that do, check their post history, and begin to dig a little bit?
If there’s nothing else to suggest how screwed up someone is, then fine, no harm no foul.
Just as teachers and administrators at schools can talk to a kid who does this on social media, authorities should be able to as well.

I wasn't trying to insinuate a novice is better than you, simply that a relative novice with an AR-15 is more deadly than a novice with a bolt action rifle. I'd take both over a novice with an AA12 (ignoring the cost and regulations you'd have to overcome).
Your point is the weapon used or the capacity used is simply a tool. My point is there are a few tools that are incredibly efficient in this role, so to ignore them is wrong IMO.

Probably not many people. But a little digging into his background and social media accounts doesn’t kill anybody. No reason not to err on the side of caution here.

Ok, you're right. An AR has a higher rate of fire than a bolt action.
Ill argue that even a solid platform like a AR, a Bolt action is more accurate.
They both can shoot more than 1 round per minute so what are you getting at? The AR is a better tool? Of course it is. More modern, more intimidating (to some) yet, if not know how to be used properly, it is no more effective than a bolt action.

Anderson Cooper isn't saying the shooters name or showing any photos of him because he doesn't want to give the sick frick any publicity.

To be fair, the whole “break down of the traditional family unit” argument is just as flawed as the “ban guns” argument.
I agree 100%.
I know several people with broken families, who are great human beings because they don't want to end up like their parent(s).
And just as many people with strict, dedicated and well off parents, who are nothing more than dope addicts or rebellious frick ups.
The problem is indeed the parents... and not for "lack of discipline", for being poor examples themselves.
Yelling at retail employees, road rage, alcohol abuse, spousal abuse, preaching hate and intolerance for those who are "different" or "below" them,
lack of self awareness and inability to control their own temper...
Do as I say and not as I do, is just passing on the same bullshite over generations.

The kid will be in a cell or high on drugs the rest of his life.
He will be protected by the system.
His family needs to be dug into and exposed. Parents need to be getting on them. I dont care if the kid is 19 and a legal adult, someone needs to be held responsible for this.

One of the kids interviewed that ran to the neighboring Wal-Mart said that if there was a kid that would shoot up a school, he's the first that came to mind.
