If you care about saving lives magilda, I hope you aren't hypocritical in your desire for more control over these mass killers as well

Logically I don't disagree, but they'd quickly become the weapon of choice for these things and people would still argue guns aren't part of the problem.

I don't agree at all. First, they are incredibly expensive. Even if we were to lift the regulations, manufacturers would still likely set their price much higher than semi-auto varieties of the same gun.

Second, except for a select few cases, they would be no more effective than a semi-auto weapon (the select few being cases like in Las Vegas where the shooter is simply firing into a crowd). They are wildly inaccurate.

He's 19.

Its harder for him to get a beer at this age than a gun.

Guarantee he bought them legally. Being a gun "enthusiast" like he was.

Is there any gun you believe should be regulated?

Then they'll have to keep answering tough questions of why this shite happens all the time.

Its complacency on multiple levels.

Again, not a gun issue.

"I never thought it would happen to my kids school" Sure ya did. We see it every week.

It was also said that the superintendent was at another school giving away a car and he didnt think he would have to go to this school to deal with this shooting.

Many, many factors. Again, the gun is just a tool, it doesnt have a mind, it cant move unless someone moves it. It cant hurt people unless it is intended to hurt something or someone.

If he's 19 he probably just bought it. Can't you still buy a rifle or shotgun at 18? I'm asking because I'm old now and don't remember but I assume that's still the case in many states

I never said ban guns or anything close to that. I'm talking about having more school resource officers and metal detectors.

Debatable, but I'll allow it.

The majority of these (these being the high volume of death shootings) mass shootings are crowds though. However bad the carnage is with semiautomatic weapons, firing automatic weapons into a crowd would be worse. Or even 3 shot bursts.

I don’t think many people under 20 are mature enough to handle owning a gun. A trip to a bar on Friday night can show you many adults over 21 aren’t mature enough to drink beer without being idiots.

Wasnt calling you out. Just copied your quote and put what it comes down to.

Complacency.

Starts with parents and goes up from there.

I could sit outside that school with a bolt action rifle and do more damage than this kid did.

Type of weapon/capacity is irrelevant. Its just something to fuel the media or someones agenda to put the blame on guns.

School shooting in Florence, Alabama in 1856:
quote:

The schoolmaster had a tame sparrow and had warned the students not to harm it, threatening death. One of the boys stepped on the bird and killed it; he was afraid to return to school but did so. After lessons, the master took the boy into a private room and strangled him to death. The boy's father went to the school and shot the schoolmaster dead.[

WTF???

Ah okay. Definitely complacency. I'm just tired of a bunch of innocent people getting gunned down.

Disagree strongly.

There are millions of under 20 year old gun owners who didn’t shoot anyone today.

I owned rifles and shotguns when I was younger than that but I grew up in the country and have been around guns my whole life. We went hunting without adults at 12-13 years old.

I am too man. No one takes pleasure in debating this stuff. It is getting ridiculous. However for the people who do think it is guns, its not.
