Do you take your BCG group down when cleaning?
If not you really need to.
Pull the pin on the side, pull the firing pin, pull the bolt pin (I don't know if that's the right term) and then slide out the bolt.

Chad it isn't a group buy. Calm down.
But how much do you think it would be per upper if we ordered a shipping container full
I'm just trying to grind it in a little more.

Yeah, that's why I had to remove the bolt. I've taken it apart to clean like you are talking about only 2 or 3 times over the years after watching a how to youtube though.
That's why I'm not very well versed in everything need to build an AR from the ground up.

I'd like to try to piece one together as I hear it can be more rewarding and lower the overall cost.

It isn't hard at all. If I had everything in front of me it might take an hour but most likely much less.

Absolutely.

Meh. If you do it right, and many times, you're going to get exactly what you want and not pay for a bunch of parts you will throw/give away. However, it's a buyers' market for ARs, so from a pure cost standpoint, I would say you have to build 5 or 6 to break even - just on the tools, unless you already have everything or borrow from family and friends.

I laughed until I remembered how many of these OB baws have no military experience.

OB AR? Yeti sticker on the stock and truck nuts engraved on the lower.

I do not but I had to take a military science class at Miss State. The guy teaching the class was an artillery sgt fresh back from Operation Desert Shield.
He let us take guns (the real ones m-16) out to shoot during the class but we had to clean them afterward. Even let us shoot with 3 burst or full auto.
He obviously showed us how to break them down to clean.

I understand completely - my first exposure to military service was basic training - compared to military science, that's the difference between reading a book about skydiving and getting pushed out of a plane with a chute partially attached and a smudgy instruction sheet on how not to die on the way down.
No, seriously, I think with 1 or 2 dry runs just for practice, I could field strip a "broken in" M-16 and reassemble it in about 2 minutes - probably less - in the dark.

a lack of PSA logo.

serious question: would a normal ffl require you to fill out 3 forms and/or charge 3 fees?
Posted on 2/14/18 at 3:41 pm to Chad504boy
Mine doesn't. As long as they arrive together.
