Him sticking to 1970s football was his undoing.
That’s actually an insult to 1970’s offenses.
There were numerous offenses in the 70s that were innovative and unpredictable.
The main problem with Miles was predictability regardless of scheme.

quote:
Ensminger did much more with Cams offense than Cam ever did
He did a great job of filling in on short notice and holding things together, just as Orgeron did. But the quoted statement is false, unless you consider the same number of points per game and about 30 more yards per game than Cameron’s last full season to be much more than “Cam ever did”.
ETA:

the 20013 offense was nothing special. With the talent it had on board it really under performed.
Also incorrect. That offense was very good, you’re too hung up on volume stats. They clearly wanted to control the ball more to protect a suspect defense following the loss in the Georgia shootout.

I would add that he’s a massive downgrade.

you're one of these posters that looks at totals and ranks offenses that way.
in your eyes.....
400 yards in 60 plays
IS A BETTER OFFENSE THAN
399 YARDS IN 40 PLAYS
2013 we were 11th in the country in yards per play but since we don't run a HUNH and we are a ball controlled offense we were 105th in plays ran.
we were 9th in the country in points per play.
we ledthe country in 3rd conversion %
educate yourself instead of regurgitating bullshite rant myths.

exactly.
you can tell a poster doesnt understand football if they use only totals.

quote:Cam's biggest problem was lack of a QB, which I admit he owned and should have solved summer of 2016.
accomplished ? who cares. Ensminger did much more with Cams offense than Cam ever did.
It was Miles/Cam with the most attempts in 2016 after inserting Etling, not O/SE.
quote:Yeah, it only holds the school record for ypg, ypp, 2nd in ppg, offensive TDs, 3rd ypg passing and many other top 5s.
the 20013 offense was nothing special.
IIRC '13 held SEC record for 1k rusher, 2X 1k WR yds or something of the sort also.

Check the record book and you'll find most all those 70s offenses, along with the rest, are behind Miles offenses in most every category.
It's a strange misconception.

come on brother. you and I know better than most that facts don't carry any weight in a miles discussion.
you can add to that that we had a rb that was setting the sec single season yards per carry record
the record is...
3000 yard passer
1000 yard rusher
(2) 1000 yard wrs
but yeah nothing special

Better clock management. Fired Cameron and Peveto. Is addressing holes in the trenches.
Criticism : botched the offensive coordinator position 2 years in a row. Lost 2 high profile recruits in consecutive years to Alabama. And of course Troy.
He has a chance to prove himself next year with a very strong schedule.

no one really believed that Canada would turn out to be such an insecure thin skinned prick. Ensminger is yet to be deteremined.

as did Miles and every other coach who has a recruit that Saban wants in their area

Agree, now sit back and get behind the program and see what happens.

can We just agree that is LSU isn’t in the SEC Championship game next year Saban losing to ULM and UAB is fricking irrelevant.
Troy is a bad loss. Just because Saban has a few bad losses doesn’t mean O doesn’t suck.
Saban won the west in. 2001 and 2008 the next year after those loses. So either O does that or we just never bring up Saban’s losses as an excuse again

I was ok with the hire initially. Believed him that he’d stay out the way and recruit his arse off.
I truly thought he would bring in great recruiting classes.
Well, we know where we are and what he can do there now with a full year under his belt.
That is not saying anything about the individual kids we got which I am extremely grateful for but the overall class.

It’s about the same or worse if miles had stayed.

his career at that point wasn't built on shite head coaching.
ed orgeron's is.

it's pretty funny watching people like you telling other posters to shut up and support the team after years of shitting on miles.
why was it ok for you to constantly bash a lsu coach with actual accomplishments but now all of the sudden a proven failure is above reproach.

Not yet.

O at his best so far has been marginally better than Miles at his worst.

Miles definitely doesn't lose to Troy, and I think he goes for it on 4th and inches against Notre Dame, clinching the win.
