Someone said Macy's in NYC. First, that parade is shorter than every single Mardi Gras parade in South Louisiana. Second, they start preparing for that parade and blocking off stuff a month before Thanksgiving.

You sure about that? The route is 2.6 miles. You sure that is shorter than every parade in South La?

No other city in world can do a legit parade on 2 days notice the way N.O. can, its not even debatable.
Here was the giants parade

Guys, I think Nola will have the best floats, and throws, as that is what we do.

But there has been a bit too much hyperbole in here

Double decker tourist buses

You're not proving your point with that picture.

I have said no other city will have floats. I mean, why would they

Yes I am. The city did just fine in organizing the route and everything for a parade to roll through. If you are saying no other city will have mardi gras floats, than yes, of course not.

They had people here from all over the region.. Even from Shreveport..

So it would not be legit.

By definition:

Saints parade draws city's largest crowd ever

LINK

quote:

Super Bowl parade organizer Barry Kern has estimated 800,000 people were in attendance at the Saints’ rolling party, the largest figure for any New Orleans parade. Kern will provide a final number Wednesday after looking at aerial footage from helicopters flying over the route.

Traffic in the city was impossible to navigate, while supermarkets in outlying areas were reported to be empty. That’s no surprise. If the estimate is close to accurate, practically the entire region was at the parade.

There have been some articles written that proved the numbers false. It would be physically impossible to have that amount of people in that area. It was closer to 1 million.

I know people who went to the parade from NOLA, I can assure you that people drove in from the suburbs as well (10 million people in the area)

so either you or your people dont know anything.

I went with my GF and a buddy. We parked near the CCC and walk to Canal street across from the Marriott. We had no plans where to park just played it by ear. After the fact it was worth it. It was crazy crowded. We found a near by hotel that had a bar and bathroom. The walk back was a death march.

No.

Say what yall want about New Orleans, but at least after we won a SB people were not turning over cars and setting shite on fire..

I completely understand being extremely excited after your team wins a SB or a championship, but I will never understand why people feel the need to destroy shite. Get drunk, dance..Enjoy the atmosphere.. Don't turn the celebration into a fricking war zone.

STOP THE THREAD! Is everyone ignoring the fact that a Rod Stewart Concert is in the top ten largest gatherings of humanity in the world? Rod fricking Stewart. Not the Beatles or Elvis or Rolling Stones or Led Zeppelin or Michael Jackson or even U2, but Rod Stewart. My mind is completely blown here. I think I'm done for the day here.

Also NOLA seems to be the only city that didn't riot after winning a championship in recent history.
