I think I was drunker that day than at any other time in my life.

Remember when the baws of the IT were giddy with excitement proclaiming that if the Saints won the super bowl there would be massive rioting and the city would burn?

I guess it would make sense that saints fans would think they throw the best party. Along with all other 31 NFL teams who might win one.

Yea, not like New Orleans would have a leg up on the other NFL cities when it comes to parades....
Or know anything about parting in general

I caught the Lombardi Gras parade in front of Harrah's and it was the most crowded parade I've ever seen.
Thought I had a good idea to catch the pedestrian ferry from Algiers Point to Canal Street to avoid traffic and parking downtown....wrong. Didn't have any time to pre-game for the parade because it took me 4+ hours to get on the ferry and barely made it across in time for the start of the parade.

I would also like to see how they estimated that cause i doubt Chicago double in size for that parade
There have been some articles written that proved the numbers false. It would be physically impossible to have that amount of people in that area. It was closer to 1 million.

New York certainly is the classic standard for sports championship parades, but New Orleans would be hard to top for the uniqueness of the culture and the uh, uniqueness of the Saints actually winning it.

Not only was the parade in New Orleans the best, so was the celebration after the win. People of all different backgrounds with one thing in common- a love of the Saints- coming together to joyfully and peacefully celebrate. There wasn’t the rioting and tearing shite up that you see in other cities.
The timing of the Super Bowl that year just made it that much better. The SB celebration wrapped up in the final week of Mardi Gras was a once in a lifetime party. Damn sure hope I get to experience it again one day.

Why was New Orleans the only place that had one of these at night?
It started in the afternoon and went into the night

The country of India has a billion people in it. They all gather there. You suck.

The numbers came from word of mouth. Much like the attendance for the 2007 LSU Florida game.

You think NOLA has a leg up on New York, Los Angeles, Chicago or other large cities?

When it comes to parades and partying? Damn straight. When it comes to most other things? No.

In terms of ability to hold a large scale parade? Uh yeah they kinda do several every year.
