Is there anything there that a family of 4 could do in July for a couple days? Will be passing through and was wondering if it would be worth a couple day stay. Any suggestions? Or should we just drive right on through? Remove beaches from the equation. TIA

St Augustine isn't too far away and has some pretty cool old buildings. But nothing in either city to keep a family of 4 entertained for multiple days.

We stayed in St. Augustine for a week last year and had a great time. I don't think you'd have any problem keeping yourself busy there for a couple of days. Alligator Farm is a lot of fun, as well as all of the historical stuff downtown.

The Jax beaches are cool and the Budweiser Brewery is worth touring, even with kids in tow. I’d only spend a day or two in Jax before heading down to St Augustine if I was you

Skip Jax. Spend one day in Amelia Island and one day in St. Augustine.

If Jacksonville were in any other Southeastern state, it'd be considered a great place.
