He was still good but the passion has been squeezed from his voice. It almost feels like someone did him wrong with the way he had acted over the last 2-3 years. I don't think it was age. Seems like an agenda

Watch his interview with Juan Kincaid and Jim was choking up just being asked the Hokie question. That was clearly the change.

I watch the games on TV...the radio is always ahead of the TV and it drives me bats trying to watch a game that way. (If Goofdell had any brains there would be an app that synced the video with your team's radio call.)

Sad to see him go, although I agree that he was less passionate this past season. I noticed he seemed less enthusiastic in the post game highlights.

Replacement?

Hear me out now, Tiger Rant. You might not like this suggestion but you know in your heart it's a good one.

I was curious, so I listened to the call, and honestly, it sounded like any other TD by an opposing team.

Joel Meyers makes so much sense. Whatever they decide don't get one of those midwest fricks with that Jesse Ventura bravado. That shite is awful to listen to.

Meyers is just old. How many years could he give?

Can’t find his age anywhere but he has to be pushing 70

Who doesn’t think of him when we won the NFCCG? He will be greatly missed.

Won't question his passion but he's the biggest most defeatist homer calling games. ECU hit some shot late to send the game into overtime and he said "there's a black cloud over New Orleans right now with the Saints, Pelicans, and this". He would've done the radio call equivalent of slitting his wrists on the Diggs play.

I can't imagine the circumstances that management would possibly allow this to happen. You'd be going from an articulate English major to a barely functional semi-illiterate a-hole with the vocabulary of a 3rd grader raised in a rural Tangipahoa barnyard. (Mah mannnn.)

He was the soundtrack to the Saints. I always hear the others teams guys and was so thankful he was ours. I just can't imagine a better voice for the Saints than his. Its not going to be the same for sure.
