re: Is "Prosperity Gospel" incompatible with the teachings of Christ?

All I do is look to scripture itself to find the answer, and what Christ Himself said on the matter, and it all comes back negative toward the prosperity stuff.

Chrstian is being “Christ-Like”, right? So, did Christ say to lay up treasures on this earth? Far from it. He said that where your treasure is there will your heart be also. He said that it is easier for a camel to get through the of of the needle than a rich man to get into heaven, the eye of the needle being the lowly entrance into Jerusalem where the poor and humble entered I take it. And, more than anything, His life itself was not one that surrounded itself with extravagance but rather very humble and giving. Christ did not walk this earth in fine garments, or driving nice chariots, I don’t see Christ wearing fine jewelry, or a Rolex, or living in a mansion with his own private jet.

When the people came to take Him by Force and make Him King over Israel, He departed to the wilderness. He said multiple times that this was NOT His kingdom, and so He did not desire anything of this world. In using Him and His own life here as an example of how to be Christ-Like, which is clearly the only way to do so, there’s nothing whatsoever that leads me to a prosperity gospel, unless of course it’s not the gospel you use to find that, in which I have no desire for any of that.
