Micah Gibbs left knee is in a Velcro strapped cast.

Josh Smith only batted, no running or fielding.

For those who care about such things, Zach Watson hit the first, and only, homerun in batting practice.

Nick Storz was dressed out but only caught tosses for Sean Ochinko during fungo.

The purple seats are still not in place due to sealing the concrete floor in those sections.

They'll never be ready in time.

First thing I looked for. Both look good. Now lets see the next group of starters numbers.

Hess has nasty stuff - we all know that. The only question is can he go about 6 innings each start against top-flight SEC competition.

He's lost weight since last season. Reminds me of how Alex Lange got in better shape after his freshman season. Hopefully it will help Hess' stamina.

Eta: Thanks Scuba for the stats.

Spring practice is underway

Hess looking great against the presumptive starting lineup, now let's hope he can do that for 6+ innings at a time. Thanks for doing this again, Scuba

Like I said a couple of weeks ago, they won't be able to keep Nick Webre out of the lineup for long. All he does is hit...

They do, but all I've seen of the schedule is what Russian posted in another thread:

Saturday – 1pm practice; Scrimmage at 3:15

Sunday – 12pm practice; Scrimmage at 2pm

I would guess Smith being unable to find probably has a lot to do with it today, but I've been curious about Bain at 2nd. I've seen him there before I think at the end of an out of hand midweek game and maybe even in scrimmage reports. Is he a legit 2b? It would seem we've got a few guys that are vying for that spot and one of them should get the reps.
