My wife will put them in caked with food, and she doesn’t know the correct way to load a dishwasher. I’m constantly having to go behind her and rinse the dishes and rearrange the dishwasher. It’s the one thing she’s not very good at.

This is why I have designated the dishes as kids chores at our house. My son unloads the dishwasher and then my daughter loads it. And I taught them both exactly how I expected each task to be completed.

I scrape off particulate matter and rinse off mass quantities of sauces, but if a sauce is dried on a plate or not present in globs, I don't worry about it. Dishes come out clean as a whistle, just like the manual says they will. Dishwashers are a lot better than they used to be, and Cascade pods and rinse-aid are the bomb. What a time to be alive.

no, the dishwasher gets so hot it starilizes everything inside even before the detergent hits it and really digs the shite out

Buy this:

And add it to your detergents. Greenies removed it from Cascade and laundry detergent years back. Clothes and dishes will actually get clean, and it's better for your pipes.

Yes because the dish washing machine doesn’t get all the food off if you don’t.

Why you should skip heavy rinsing

It's difficult to even explain how idiotic that logic is.

Always rinse and the filter very rarely has anything in it.

An appliance saleswoman told us she went to convention where they unveiled a new Kitchen Aide dishwasher. They put an entire chocolate cake, and an entire pepperoni pizza in there and turned it on. After it ran its cycle, there was no sign of the cake or pizza left in the machine.

While counterintuitive it is the opposite of idiotic. Just a few links to show you are incorrect:

You

don't

have

to

pre

rinse

your

dishes

before

putting

them

in

the

dishwasher

In fact for several reasons having them too clean before running the dishwasher results in dishes that aren't as clean as if you hadn't.

I scrub them off until there's nothing on them anymore.. then I put them in the dishwasher. Maybe overkill but who cares.

You're not alone. Any other way seems disgusting.
