You don't get it. We want the team to win. I want coach Zero to win a NC. I also want to win the lottery. I think the chances are about the same.

We have resorted to "hoping we luck out" with coaching hires. That is troubling to many like myself.

Prove us wrong... we are ready and willing to eat crow.

Yep.. This is the issue. No one is "mad" that E is OC now. We're mad because the chances of him succeeding at OC are minimal.
The chances of him AND O succeeding at the same time are basically zero.

If they beat the odds then everyone will be happy, in the meantime, we'll remain sick and tired of this administration selling us mediocrity (at best) and expecting us to be satisfied.

I said it before, if we do, I'll eat crow and have seconds. It's nothing personal against Ensminger. I can't stress that enough. I want nothing more than to see him tear it up.

Well said. I only wish more people thought this way. Unfortunately most on the rant do not... even if they say they do. They will be watching the first game next season with a notepad, just salivating for F ups to jot down so they can come here and complain and start plotting on which coaches we should hire after the fire.

It’s not about the result. It’s about the process. (There are some exceptions for people like Saban who run a strict system and have a proven track record)

And what I mean by the process is that LSU should be hiring proven excellent coordinators.

If you consistently hire coordinators that haven’t installed an offense in 20 years you are going to fail more often than not. Orgeron doesn’t have the track record to justify pulling a hire like this. Can he get lucky? Sure. But that doesn’t say anything about how LSU will fare one term if it keeps making these types of decisions.

The thing is some people don't live in reality. They don't care what the evidence tells us. It's always "You don't know the future, it could work."

Yes it could work but why is LSU football reduced to relying on low percentage propositions? Why don't the what if'ers want more than that for LSU? G5 programs are supposed to be the what if'ers.

Why don't all of us want to hire a OC that doesn't have to be convinced to do the job, or who has done the job full time in the past 20 years? It's as if some have zero pride in the program and will accept anything.

It's going to be a miserable year for them watching the offense throw the ball all over the field! Just because he is getting close to the end of his career doesn't mean he has no experience with the spread offense. I wish him a record breaking season!

I'm fine with E as OC. I think the OC gets overblown a bit by the board. Your impact players are gonna make the offense. Based on what I have seen by Brennan I am really excited about the future of the offense. The positives were very positive for a freshman. His release, speed and touch were phenomenal. And heck he hasn't even filled out yet. Better than any quarterback not named Mettenberger for the last 12-14 years. Once he learns to read defenses we are set. I think we are gonna see an explosive offense next year. For those of us pass happy and point starved souls we are gonna be happy, happy, happy.

But aren't you a "what if'er" by saying it's not going to work.

You talk about reality.
Stop complaining about what should have been and focus on what is. FACT: Ensminger will be LSU's OC next year. That's reality.

At this point its like get behind it or get out the way.

The evidence suggests a career loser at HC paired with an OC that didn't want the job and hasn't done it in 20 years won't win a championship. Why? Because it's never happened. That's not a what if, that's a fact.

What kind of circumstantial BS is that?

I guess Gene Chizik never happened either.

Yep, that's what we're banking on, us signing the second coming of Cam Newton. Low probability proposition.

This whole winning thing goes a lot better if you just go and get a good coach.

No one will admit he was wrong. A year ago they were savaging the best coach in college baseball.

There's no resolution with you. You said "never" I gave you Gene and now it's a "Low probability"

So what "good" coach was available during the time of the CEO hire that would have won 11-13 games?

I love this one. 1 and 2 weren’t available. May as well skip 3-49 and go for 50, huh?
