Climate change is real, the hysteria created around it is fear mongering

Exactly. The climate has been changing one way or another as long as there’s been an atmosphere. But the notion that we somehow can have any influence on it is absurd and totally unsupported by any scientiifc evidence.

That's fine if you don't agree with me, or you think I'm being cute. But the shite that you are posting doesn't support your arguments, in my opinion.

Many believe that global warming (if currently true) happens naturally without any help from man.
So far this winter Charleston SC has received more snow than Taos Ski Valley in the Rocky Mountains, I would say that’s a pretty good indicator that something strange is going on.

Your notion that "everything was cleared up" is comical.
I quoted the guy that started the "controversy".
Everything after that was just politicians twisting and spinning the story to fit their agendas.

Who do the 'global warming" people blame for those incidents?
Natural cycles that take thousands of years.

Right. It is the convenient belief. But there is a very massive warming trend that just so happens to correspond with man's industrialization.
It is impossible to 100% prove causation, but an objective person can come to pretty definitive conclusions based off all the data that we currently understand.
Could we discover other mechanisms at work later on? Absolutely. And scientists all over the world are currently trying to find other links.
The best advice I can give anyone on climate change is to ignore the media and politicians who use it as a means of control and power through fear mongering, and go directly to the sources of the studies and read the conclusions for yourself.
Don't just read through the lens of whatever political mouthpiece you agree with.

I don't understand why idiots on both sides of the climate change issue get all up in the air when it's unusually hot or cold in the little dot of the earth they live in.
Look at an old fashion globe placing the USA in the middle. Observe how little territory the entire 48 states cover.
You can't even see the full size of the surrounding mass near the edges to compare and you are only looking at 1/2 of the surface!!!
2 snow storms in La. in one year don't mean shite. Neither does high temps in Fargo 2 years in a row.
The people doing research needs the money to keep coming in to make a living. They have been caught lying and fudging factors. Besides that they are only using models.
Al Gore is only fear mongering to keep his income coming in.
Bottom line is we really have no idea what is really happening.

How “very massive” is the warming trend compared to trends that occurred thousands or tens of thousands of year ago? It’s all relative.

I don’t have a doubt that human factors can and do influence the global climate. I think most of the disagreement is centered around the degree of causation.

We still have Hawaii, right?

I’m amazed at how many people don’t realize it snows in Hawaii pretty reguarly.

Jet stream changed in early December. It's switching again, you'll probably see a reverse.

The trend line is greater. Natural cycles take thousands of years to see the type of increases we have seen in the last 100.

I get that it snows in the mountains, but I don't consider that "on the ground" like the thread title says.

Your statement that there is zero scientific evidence that humans have the ability to have some impact on the global climate is not true.
There is plenty of scientific evidence that human activity has some impact on the global climate. Whether that evidence rises to the level of proving that humans are a primary, significant, or, even simply, more than de minimis cause is certainly debatable.

Because we have very accurate snapshots of global temperatures over the last 100 years. We can guess what the global temperature was a million years ago, but it’s a guess at best and likely takes into account several data points and averages those data points out. That’s going to necessarily make it appear as though change happens at a much more gradual pace because you won’t have accurate snapshots of change over a shorter period of time.
