I think he's slightly overrated when we're talking "GOAT". He's definitely not better than Montana.
Its no different than Jordan vs LeBron
"But at least he got there". I know Brady has 5 to montana's 4, but seriously...
Montana is Jordan
Brady is LeBron
Montana's SB Stats:
83 completions, 122 attempts, 68.03 completion%, 1142 yards, 9.36 YPA, 11 TDs, 0 INTs, 127.8 Passer Rating, 4-0
Per game: 20.75 completions, 30.5 attempts, 285.5 YPG, 2.75 TDs
Brady's SB Stats:
207 completions, 309 attempts, 67.00 completion%, 2071 yards, 6.7 YPA 15 TDs, 5 INTs, 95.3 Rating, 5-2
Per game: 29.57 completions, 44.14 attempts, 295.9 YPG, 2.14 TDs, 0.71 INTs
That's in a passing era vs Montana's era that didn't tilt towards the offense. Also 6.7 YPA is literally bottom 10 while 9.36 goes into MVP category.
Personally this is how I view it, if you're saying in 2000 you can have your pick of any QB in this era to start...you'd pick Manning before Brady.

but unfortunately their system leaves the defense on the field with high passing and quick scoring/Drew Brees pick 6.
So, Brees actually holds the ball longer than Brady, and keeps his defense off the field more
Why dont you admit you dont know shite........
Bottom line, if Brady and Brees switched teams, they would both still be elite QBa, but Brees would have the rings and Brady would be left with an average defense ranking in the 20s, instead of top 10
Average scoring defense ranking of the players

Why isn't everyone running the Pats "system?
Maybe because after almost 20 years of the pats system, 31 other teams' owners, GMs, and coaches are too stupid to implement it themselves. They all need to hire the OP to show them how its done.
Here's to Brady and the cut-off sweatshirt man winning yet another one!

I wonder why they keep paying him, then? Why not just bring in a young QB every few years so that they don't have to pay veteran QBs like Brady?

What exactly is the “system”?
Because Brady wasn’t always in the gun.

Exactly, the just traded Jimmy G another system QB whose much younger.

Will Cain made a great point on his radio show that simplicity and getting out of one's individual way are one of the hardest things to accomplish if you're any team but New England, it really boils down to just being smart and aware

Brady, Brees, Manning, and Rodgers would all win a shite ton of rings with top 10 defenses every year

2nd, yes, he's overrated a tiny bit
But it can be both. He can be overrated, I think he is. But he can also still be on the very, very shortlist to argue as GOAT QBs.

Not a fan of comparing who is better that way.

If anyone is the poster boy for system qb, it’s Drew Brees. Over 5k the past 4 years and with 3 losing season. Payton has developed Drew Brees into a system qb, but unfortunately their system leaves the defense on the field with high passing and quick scoring/Drew Brees pick 6.
Ouch.

I get so giddy every time i see those Pride Excel sheets!!!

All of their offensive metrics are identical, then Brady has an average defense ranking of 7, while the other 3 are 14, 15, and 20
This shouldnt be hard to figure out people

Motherfricker, did I stutter? SONIC. NOW.
Anyway, that was Jimmy Johnson's whole philosophy - dominate the line of scrimmage. Obviously it worked and Emmit was the beneficiary, but let's not pretend he was the best just because of yardage.
If you don't think those were great o-lines, you weren't watching.

Those Cowboys teams of the early-mid-90s were great TEAMS IN GENERAL, great quarterback, great receiving corps, great fullback, great running back, great offensive line, criminally underrated defenses that kept opponents off the scoreboard, just gotta give credit when due yo.

But Brees is 13-13 for his career and Brady 26-9 in the playoffs. At some point, those lightbulbs should be going off. Playing considerably worse in the playoffs doesn't magically win more games.

Brady is only overrated in the sense the other ridiculous HOF QBs like Manning, Brees, and Rodgers would have had similar winning success under Belichik on the Patriots. Brady is still one of the best QBs of all-time though without all the rings.

Nate Newton. Mark Tuinei. Kevin Gogan. Mark Stepnoski. 4 of the more constant linemen on the 90’s Cowboys.
Those SAME exact offensive lineman got Troy Aikman almost killed his rookie season.
They gave up 11 sacks on thanksgiving to Philadelphia.
They went 1-15 in 1989.
24th in rushing yards. 27th in total offense. That’d be the 2nd to worst offense in the NFL cause there were only 28 teams in 1989.
Emmitt Smith was drafted in 1990
