Well, the associate work at those places pays well. I think the problem is some people get strung along for like 10 years and then get their hearts ripped out about partner.

Good for you, TDcline. I would love to work next to hot nurse sluts everyday.

I use the Quip brush and paste...I think that's pretty good advice.

my job doesn't suck, in fact I kind of like it... but it not sucking probably has a lot to do with it not paying all that well

You law dogs rarely have anything good to say about your profession.

I recently made a mid-life career change. I'm extremely lucky in that my wife owns her own business. This afforded me a chance to take some time, introspect, and truly find something I wanted to do.

I spoke to a lot of people that I respected. I spoke to people that were rich. People that were middle class. People in trades and people in white collar jobs. The one thing I took away from all those conversations? I couldn't find ANYONE that would recommend what they did for a living for me to pursue. Not a single one.

In all seriousness, go to Johnson O'Connor, narrow your search, pursue a path and find some mentors. I spent a lot of time doing the wrong things. Wish I had done this 20 years ago. I had to start all over, but I'm WAY happier with my job than I ever was before.

Sorry Slippy . I didn’t find my professional groove until my mid forties. It kind of felt like a lie- like I was playing a role, and though I was good in the role, it was not really my true authentic self. So I started to crave authenticity instead of fitting into a slot . So I created my own career almost by accident and through trial and error found my way.

Maybe find a guy you admire and go to lunch and pick his brain . A lot of the time it’s just about seeing it fresh from another successful POV.

You hate your job, or hate your profession?

If the former, talk one of your clients into hiring you.

If the latter, it’s a little late to change but lawyers go into business all the time in leadership positions.

Can you focus on what initially motivated you pursue this degree? Did you suddenly realize you hate it? I bet you just hate your colleagues.

Isn’t your profession is as diverse as medicine? Surely there is a setting that is rewarding to you.

I don't really like work except the money.

It's ok. Most people treat me pretty good, but I enjoy golf more than work.

I enjoy most things more than work. It is what it is.

If someone offered to buy me out not to work, I'd listen.

If the number was right, I'd go home.
