College ratings are down too

This is from your link

quote:

“I don’t think that meant less interest in college football,” Karp said. “If anything, I’d say the interest was higher this season compared to some prior years. If you look at total minutes viewed for college football, it had to be some sort of record this year.

That headline is a little clickbaity.

People were jacking off yesterday about the big Saints/Vikings viewership. DOWN from last season. Classic

bc the Saints are a small market team with a small fan base

compared to the Cowboys vs Packers last year.....

Most of those are within margin of error with cord cutters factored in.

What are you talking about, a 23% down is within the margin of error because of cord cutters. Not to mention that the game was on network TV.

Sucks for those that didn’t watch. Those were some really good games not counting the massacre of the Titans.

Cowboys always produce ratings . Plus all these people claiming cord cutters are the reason . The games are available free without cable. I don’t have cable and could have watched the games with my HD attenna . NFL viewership is down significantly deal with it. Still think the health issue is what hurts the league long term , however a lot of viewers don’t want politics mixed with sport

This is getting beyond embarrassing, into the downright 'stupid' level of mentality. Cord cutters ae not affecting the ratings of broadcast TV. Broadcast TV is free, as it always was, before and after cable came into existence

The first thing they tell you to do when you cut the cord, is to buy an HD antenna. So that you can watch the free stuff. Like every NFL game (except Monday Night football)

Of course they are, not everyone goes out and buys an HD antenna when you can watch it all for free without one.

And are you aware of the popularity of televisions being sold without tuners these days to cut costs? Some of the best selling TV's the last couple of years come without tuners, meaning an HD antenna won't work.

I watched all 4 games on illegal internet streams. I know, badass. But just saying that my viewership was still there without it being counted. Which ironically last year when I had cable I didn’t watch all the games

And how has Nielsen adjusted for this? It has actually been a challenge for them. Over the air has always been under counted by Nielsen, which is something they are currently planning to address by adding more OTA households

Also, all the games this weekend were available via stream

It is hilarious to me that you're calling others stupid here

Furthermore, last year's packers-cowboys game was the most watched divisional game in NFL history

Nielsen adding 15,000 OTA
