Good Morning Cub Family,
Weather update:
LSU EOC continues to monitor weather conditions and is providing regular reports to the LSU Laboratory School. A conference call with the National Weather Service will take place this morning, and we will have the latest information no later than 10:30 and possibly sooner.
As soon as we hear from EOC, we will forward their decision to you. Clearly, the safety of our students and staff is the highest priority, and all decisions will be based upon that concern.
Administration
P.S. EOC is aware that the LSU Laboratory School is not well-equipped to remove students from campus on short-term notice.

What the frick is wrong with these people? Let’s have a conference call at 1030, then note that getting the kids off campus is an issue. Smh

So the latest my wife told me was my sons school in Ascension, Oak Grove, is letting out early afternoon? Sounds awesome for me to drive through the crud to pick him up.

Even worse than I imagined. LSU made me come to work/class for 8 then will possibly cancel before 10:30

Can't wait. My kids were irate this morning when finding out their's was pretty much the only school open today. I wasn't too pleased either.

This thread is a perfect encapsulation of TD as a whole. First, there is incessant bitching by people because schools are closed and they may have to make plans for, or actually take care of, their own children. Now, there is incessant bitching because some schools remained open and were stupid to do so.

Dude, they canceled daycare as we were getting the kids ready for school. At least allow people to make plans. At 8:30 last night, they said EBR was not closing schools

I agree. We were left hanging until this morning and will likely close before noon.

Come on LSU.
At least tell us SOMETHING

If you are going to close a school, don't wait until the day of to do it.
It amazes me when some school districts refuse to make a decision until the last minute while others are doing it a day ahead of time. It's aggravating when I have to take leave from work to watch my kid when the daycare closes, but at least the school board has the sense (most of the time) to close soon enough so people can make arrangements.
It's piss poor management to wait until the morning of because maybe you think the weather forecast is wrong. I'm all for not closing schools when nothing may happen, because it pisses me off when schools are closed and the worst we get is a stiff gust of wind. But nearly the entire state was under a winter weather advisory. Sometimes precaution is a good thing.

Yes, how dare parents try to make plans and arrangements for their kids in advance. What assholes.....

As of now, St. Tammany is a go for the whole day including outdoor sports events (meaning soccer). Those games start at like 7:30...IN SHORTS!!!

I really thought they would call it at half a day. Absurd.

I thought all the smart people from New Orleans lived on the Northshore.
Apparently not. That's just dumb. They'll wait until noon and decide to shut it all down and then it will be a giant shite show.

Not sure why LSU doesn't announce now
frickn morons
They truly think they can announce canceling school literally at the very last second and rush an entire campus and hs out that quick
I wouldn't go! It's rain and sleet around 12-1 and snow follows
Everyone needs to be away from campus by noon

Yeah, they're gonna tell us at 11 that everyone has to be off campus by noon.
This is going to go well.
This is going to go well.

If you are a student don't go
It's going to be a nightmare and dangerous trying to haul that many people off at one time.
What the hell is wrong with LSU
We will probably get notified at 10 that everyone needs to be gone within 30 minutes
