Why do you guys continue to act like all immigrants are equally merited to come here?

We need skilled immigrants who can come here and make solid incomes and actually produces valuable things. They are not net drains.

The welfare state has made many unskilled immigrants a net cost, though.

Let me ask you this, if your city council decided they wanted to go into the shitholes in the inner city and begin incentivizing the residents there to move into your neighborhood, how would you feel?
First, who wants to incentivize people from "shitholes" to come here? And in what way?

But to answer your question, I don't care where anyone comes from. If they want to improve their life, and are willing to uproot and do what it takes to do so, I would absolutely welcome them with open arms. No elitism here.

I said marketable skills. I didn't mention how many degrees they have. My son in law is working on a PhD in history from a mid tier university. Even when he graduates he will still have no marketable skills.
I value your son in law more than you do I suppose, because having the marketable skill to become a teacher is a great thing.

The article you linked doesn't mention what the Nigerian degrees are in. So what are they in? What marketable skills do they have?
You serious? I mean, really?

The issue with this is that a lot of them do not do this. It is not as bad here, but there are areas of Paris (north africans) and Berlin (Turks) with very low economic activity.

I've worked in Nigeria and dealt with a lot of Nigerian immigrants here in the U.S.

Here's a cold hard truth:

Nigerian Bachelor's degree <<<<<< U.S. Bachelor's Degree.

Their whole system is designed to make them "look" marketable to outside companies. Most of them don't actually know shite. Their resume's are a long list of lies and embellishments.

Moving in to a Section 8 house and receiving welfare would drastically improve their life.

No, you know what the reality is here?

Trump was behind closed doors being candid and speaking truth, that our immigration policy should be merit-based so as to bring in quality people who will contribute to the prosperity of the country rather than become another welfare dredge.

And his candid harsh and provocative language trying to sell the severity and importance of this concept was then weaponized by his opposition in a clear display of broken trust.

This wasn’t a public speech. This was a back room negotiation in private where his job was to attempt to sell another America First concept.

All you Dems are doing is virtue signaling and crying racism yet again.

When the frick are you going to learn this is why you lost in the first place?

The stock market is up 1,000 points in just 9 trading days and 7,500 points since Nov. 8th. And the economy is on an incredible upward trajectory.

WTF agenda do you Lefties actually have that would make life better for us?

You’ve got nothing. You have no actual policy and message to compete with what Trump is doing. All you STILL have is identity politics, calling everyone a fricking racist, hate whitey, and hate Trump.

That’s it. That’s your 2018 and 2020 campaign agenda. And you’re so delusional and deranged that you think this is good and productive.

LOL, you clowns are so fricked.

The upsetting thing is that Trump very clearly insinuated that people who live in shithole countries are less worthy of becoming Americans than people from other places. Even if you strip away the possible (likely?) racist angle, you are still left with what is clearly class-based discrimination, and IMO that isn't the way the land of opportunity should present itself to the world.

Feel free to disagree.

I absolutely disagree. Our immigration policy should be designed to work in our best interest. Your suggestion that non Americans are entitled to immigrate here is absurd.

It says everything about you as a bleeding heart emotional person that you ignore the very real truth that immigration from the "low economic class" countries costs us a ton of money. It costs Americans money.

Trump is 100% right. We should limit immigration from these countries because it hurts us more than it helps.

Those countries benefited from a youthful population with high fertility, same as us. They will suffer the same fate we will if we cannot remedy our sub-replacement fertility rate, though. The reduction in the labor supply will gradually erode their economy and living standard.

I'm Mexican. My family comes from the number one shithole. As a Mexican and son of a Mexican immigrant, I find your assumptions and accusations far more racist than what Trump is accused of saying. You assume he is racist yet it is clear you have issues with your own racism.

What's your source for this. Genuinely curious.
