Talk about abuse of a good thing

A crazy shopper returned her Christmas tree to Costco this January for a refund — because it was “dead.”
Bizarrely, the woman apparently managed to get her money back in full despite taking the battered fir back a full 10 days after Dec. 25.

The employee who processed the return should be fired.
Or the employee who wrote the return regulations loophole should go.

It's called good customer service. Most stores monitor how much stuff you return and cut abusers off at some point, but the cost of the return is a lot lower than the bad publicity from a bad non return gone viral.

None of the Costcos in Houston sell real trees, where is this?

I’m pretty sure nobody would side with a woman who tried to return a used Christmas tree after Christmas
But I could be wrong

I used to work at Lowes when I was in school. We had a ridiculously liberal return policy. Luckily only a few people really pushed the envelope.

i agree, but politely denying this return would have in no way been viewed as an opportunity for bad publicity
if anything, it would have made the person making a fuss look like an idiot
i don't recall costco's exact return policy, but they are known to take back pretty much anything

Uh. No. This is called stupidity. By all means, post this shite on FB about how I wouldn't return your USED, DEAD Christmas tree on Jan 5th.

I'd be more inclined to return it if it was still "alive"...

Too bad they didn't have a live one left over to replace the dead one and send her on her way

Winner of the day for person that needs to be culled from the gene pool.

They'll never say "yes" if you don't ask.

To be fair, Christmas season runs thru January 6th

Nah, it was just a one time thing. Just amend the return policy for Christmas trees. Problem solved.
