LSU has a real problem with all the Jr's leaving every year.

1st) Ask yourself. If we have 6 guys leaving early because they are suppose to be top round draft picks. Why the hell are you losing 4 games a year?
2nd) You will never build depth when you have so many players leaving early.
3rd) What are UGA, Bama, Clemson etc coaches telling their players to mitigate this issue for their respective teams? Why isn't our coaching staff able to do the same?
Now, I'm not talking about never having a Jr. leave, I'm talking about only having 1st or 2nd round guys leave. weathersby, clapp, toliver, chris faulk, Freak, Dupree etc make no sense. These are the players you need to come back. The superstar's you should expect to leave. For some reason, this is more of an lsu problem than most universities.
If you can't fix this problem, you will never play for championships.

sounds like LSU has an issue with coach's properly utilizing talent. sounds like it has been an issue for a while now too.

shocked guys aren't itching to come back for the possibility of playing a game in Orlando, Houston, or Nashville....maybe even Tampa who knows

Instead of "come to lsu and win championships" our recruiting strategy has been " come to lsu for 3 years and go pro". It really needs to stop. It's pathetic seeing kids that are projected in the bottom rounds or maybe not even getting drafted leave early.

Its an amazing problem to have. WTF are you smoking?
Do you honestly think Clapp would be leaving if the thought he wasn't going to get drafted? He is a projected 2nd - 3rd round pick FFS.
You are acting like Bama doesnt have anyone leaving. They have 5-6 juniors already announced with 4 more days for others to decide. We have more players in the NFL than any other team in college football.
Its not like these players are leaving the team to go work at walmart. Some of you need to get some perspective.

Let the downvotes come. But, I don't think we recruit the smartest student-athletes. The playbook has always had to be dumbed down and we always seem to get stupid penalties. I think these guys are just not college material and want the heck out after they have served their time.

Yeah
except the schools you mentioned actually have coaches that are worth a shite and play in meaningful games

Based on your comparison of Alabama to LSU, it is you that’s needs to quit smoking and gain some perspective.

It's an amazing problem to have given the level of talent but we don't (and really don't expect to) play for championships any more so they bolt.

bama had THREE redshirt seniors in its starting 22 vs UGA. and one of those was a 5 star.
Eight more starters were either SRs or RS JRs. in others words, half of the starting lineup had been there 4 or 5 years.
on defense alone, they had three seniors who were all top 15 overall prospects in HS (Da'Shawn Hand was 5, Tony Brown was 9, Rashaan Evans was 14).

Bama lost one game this year and played for a n.c., L.S.U? So we should have as many leaving when we lost 4 times as much?

You are very special my dude.
What the holy frick does our record , coaches, or anything else have to do with draft ready players leaving to *GASP*, go into the NFL draft.
They are playing football in the hopes of playing in the NFL. They are getting their shot at the NFL and some how you remedials think this is a bad thing. Unreal. The greater problem would be if we didnt have any players leaving for the draft.
More dense than a full bag of rocks.

welcome to every single NCAA football team in 2017, its the new normal so you just have to get used to it.
the only jr's that dont declare for draft are ones that wont draft high and have a chance to up their draft stock with a great senior year

His has been a selling point to recruit for years now. Come to LSU, look how many guys we put in the NFL. This is nothing new. It’s been a problem for years.

I would think that a lot of this is due to depth. They are just ridiculously deep. Tony Brown and Hand weren't huge components of that defense until this year.
LSU gets it's fair share of developed 4 and 5 star players, but they usually aren't stuck behind 3 others at that position, so they play from day 1.
So they hear from day 1 about how they'll be in the NFL, etc. etc.
