They all have their share of departures. It’s recruiting and development of players. LSU has not had any players developed since 2007. We have had extremely talented players but their development really started after they left LSU. LSU won many times on talent inspite of Les Miles.

What the holy frick does our record , coaches, or anything else have to do with draft ready players leaving

talent and record shouldn't equate.

yeah, they don't play the game to win, just get drafted.

Well if you look at the early entrants #'s are pretty similar...

1) go all the way back to 2011

2) compare who's early draftee's were 1,2,and 3rd rounder's vs who had more go second day or undrafted.

I think you will find a big difference

With the most players this year in nfl on starting rosters, and in top 3 at least for the last 5 years, why nothing to show for it? Just how long will LSU pull in this level of talent when they don't compete for anything? My opinion is this talent level starts to drop off because players want to win. Other schools will start to pillage Louisiana talent.
Herman, Fisher could starting taking a bigger cut of that talent.

This is LSU, players leave early, this is nothing new. Why are you shocked by this?? Lol Big time programs lose their players early after their 3 years is up, hell, if the NCAA wasn't forcing them to stay 3 years, a lot would leave just after 2 years. But big time programs just reload and it's next man up or next 5,4,3 star player up, and the program rolls on. LSU had a lot of young players play this past season and should have still won every game except for Miss st. and Alabama. Should have finished 11-2 instead of 9-4, but....

1st) Ask yourself. If we have 6 guys leaving early because they are suppose to be top round draft picks. Why the hell are you losing 4 games a year?

2nd) You will never build depth when you have so many players leaving early.

3rd) What are UGA, Bama, Clemson etc coaches telling their players to mitigate this issue for their respective teams? Why isn't our coaching staff able to do the same?

Been saying this for years. Building dominant teams requires team stability. Bailing early for the NFL does not build team stability.

And contrary to popular opinion, this is not as widespread on all elite teams as it is claimed by some juveniles here. And it is a fairly recent trend, having gone rampant in the CLM years. LSU has a real problem building a depth of experience and skill that is essential for truly consistently successful programs. But hey! Show me the money!

I'll bet you LSU doesn't have this problem in about 2-3 years.

Cause the juniors won't be very good

That's bullshite. Every team loses true or RS juniors every year. Can't blame them for pursuing their dream which will make them a lot of $$$$$.

All starts with the head coach. Would you pass up millions to come back for 8-4?

Let the downvotes come. But, I don't think we recruit the smartest student-athletes. The playbook has always had to be dumbed down and we always seem to get stupid penalties. I think these guys are just not college material and want the heck out after they have served their time.

Look at their head coaches. Then, look at LSU's. Question answered.

They leave early because they have had to play since their freshman year and that's due to getting owned on the recruiting trail.

Alabama has red shirt juniors riding the bench. They play one year as the starter, ball out then bail out.

I guess team wins / losses is a direct correlation to an individual player's skill level.

I guess if we went 4-8, Guice and Key would suck dick amirite?

I don't know how some of you are allowed to even post anymore.

Who really gives a flying frick what we have to show for it. This has nothing to do with the topic at hand dipshit. Go do your crying in other threads. This has to do with players leaving for the draft.

He would've been sorely disappointed seeing as 2012 and 2013 both had more pass attempts and a better QB than 2017.
