They have plenty of money. Maybe Dave just preferred to stay all along and used them as leverage. Smart imo

Aranda just used them as leverage to get a contract big enough to stay around long enough til O is run out of town. Smart man

That's entirely too much money for a coordinator, but it's what you can do when you bargain bin shop for the head coach I guess.

Aggy sank too much of it's money into Jimbo.

They can. He's not going to leave for a matching deal he's going to leave to get paid more.

Hate the Aggies but they have more than enough money. Aranda I believe had to told he’s HCIW cause reports were of close to 3 mil per and that’s money the Aggies laugh about

They are poor. Lol. And they don't even know just how bad they just fricked themselves. This means that in all probability, Aranda will be the next head coach of LSU in a year or two at most and Aranda will bring championships.

They were to cheap to hire Aranda. Money was an issue and LSU dominated.

The fact this is his second raise and he even contemplated leaving is concerning for me

Wasn't about the money. Likely told he has full control of defense and defensive staff, and is the head coach in waiting.

I think a&m's problem right now is they have spent about 500 million on new stadium (much of it raised via boosters), 10 million lump sum buyout to sumlin, other buyouts to other asst coaches and a 75 million commitment to fisher. they have a lot of boosters and, contrary to popular belief on here, they are not all oil barons with unlimited funds. the hat has been passed around a LOT lately. it is likely that they have a budget for asst coaches and have about 5 more to hire.
