talked to Mcmurtry after his show, he was sitting at the bar by himself sipping a topo chico. All he did was complain about his cough he had since november. I also happened to be hanging out with a guy that works for him and my brother. That guy told me Mcmurtry's cough didnt start til he knew he would be opening for Isbell.
He hardly talks to anyone, he just doesn't give a shite, and I don't blame him.
I saw some drunk frat boy at continental club try to ask McMurtry what "his thoughts on the country were" after a show. JM just stared at him, took his two glasses of red wine and walked off without saying a word. Kid was dumbfounded.
I would also see him at whip in pretty often, we both lived down the street, and people would try to talk to him and he would usually give a go the frick away look. I get it, you're trying to relax and all these people are bothering you.
He will talk about fishing. I learned that by wearing a Budlily's fly shop hat.

Yea, I know how he is. He did talk to me a bit but I knew not to linger. I saw him talking to other people after the show so I figured he was in a good mood.

Isbell is playing a smaller venue in Dallas....1000 people maybe
I have never been to the Bomb Factory because I typically just stay near Granada (And the Blue Light when that opens), but I could have sworn the Bomb Factory was pretty fricking big.
I know they had a Post Malone concert recently there....feel like he isn't going to play in a sub 1K venue, but who knows.
ETA: Just looked it up, Bomb Factory holds 4,300 'comfortably'.
My roommates are going to show this weekend. Should be a good one.

The Bomb Factory is easily the best music venue in the DFW area & one of the best venues in the country period. It is amazing.

I didn't think it was that big. But its no "arena".

Uh....its a good venue but not the best. Its just a cavernous corporate warehouse. I would say Three Links is the best venue if you consider sound, views and intimacy. Kessler is up there when they don't have the damn tables blocking the floor area. Canton Hall is another place on par w/ bomb factory....and its owned by the same group as bomb factory. Trees and Dada are great too. I love Granada but their sound isn't up to par.

bomb factory has a 4300 capacity

I just like it because it’s small.
Shane Smith was great in there.
I can’t wait for the Bluelight to open.

I was lucky enough to catch several shows at the Ryman. Y'all are in for a treat,Isbell is on top of his game.

Went last night and the sound was fricking horrible. Maybe it was better on the balcony but no matter where we went on first floor, the sound was not good. You couldn't hear what Jason was saying in between songs. Granted, all the damn talking from people sure didn't help much. Drives me crazy that people go to shows when they should just stay home and play his downloaded music.
With that, the set list was great and would go see him again at either another venue or another city.

Says 8 on the ticket but I’m sure that’s when the opening act is.

I wanna see the opening act but this chick is taking a long time and I don't want to be in a public place alone and have people say bad things about me
Posted on 1/6/18 at 8:13 pm to el Gaucho
Opening act at 8 Isbell at 915. Per his Twitter.

Flashing cups were a bold choice for the specialty drink.
