he has a recent album out you expect him to play most of the songs from that album. I have seen him 2 nights in a row at the joy last year and then the Ryman this fall. If you want some diversity you need to catch a multiple night show.

Between truckers and him solo I’ve probably seen him 15+ times (a few more with Amanda’s band).
Since he’s gotten sober that was the worst set I’ve seen. Wasn’t bad, but just didn’t have much punch to it. I think in large part the crowd never getting into it kept the show a little sterile. Still likely one of the better shows I’ll see this year.
I’ll say it suprises me how little he plays from any pre-southeastern solo albums. Normally get a couple truckers, and exclusively the last three albums and codeine (occasionally Alabama pines) and the rest is almost totally off the table.
