The oil will but the filter won’t, so if you change the filter only at 10 you will be good.

You change the oil in your car?

Why wouldn't you just trade it in for a new one when the oil gets old?

What kinda oil are you buying for $101? I changed the oil in my truck for a bit less than that . That’s 13 qts of Rotella synthetic with a Motorcraft filter.

My 07 Cayman S calls for Mobil 1 at 20k intervals. Blows my mind.

Would have costed you $50 if you did it yourself.

jk, but the filter are rated for about 10k IIRC.

Cheaper than buying a new vehicle because you fell for a marketing gimmick.

Oil's job is to suspend contaminates. Just because it synthetic doesn't mean it can suspend more than regular oil. Don't go over 5,000 if you do a lot of in town driving. Only go longer if you do long interstate drives weekly. I never go over 5,000.

I use Mobil 1 Extended Performance (15k mi) and filters in my 5.3L GM. I've done Blackstone lab analysis several times always with 10k+ and sometime 14-15k on the clock and the analysis commentary comes back saying I could go farther. My oil change gauge usually pops at around 12k.

20k miles seems too high for me, given stop & go, temperature/condensation changes and prolonged idling.
I go about 5-6k miles changing Mobil 1 and a Wix/NAPA Gold filter.

I don’t go 20kmiled but I go 15k and change my filter every 5k. I’ve done it for years.
