I have only used Anytime Fitness.
Some are great. Some are shite. The one that is my home gym buys new equipment all the time and no machines are ever broken. They get new treadmills every few years so people dont have to used worn down stuff.
No meatheads. No thots. Everyone is there to lift or exercise. No old people gathering around the water fountain blocking the machines.

Planet fitness is for beginners and teenagers. They have no free weight barbell and the dumbbells only go to 75.
I’ve used snap and anytime when working out of town, they aren’t amazing, but they have most everything you need.

Anytime and snap are interchangeable but rely on the individual gym whether it's good. I've seen terrible snaps but was part of one that was really good.
Planet fitness is for women and men that don't care about looking good or people that have no where else to go.

i use PF because my motivation to do cardio without an audience is non existent, and my company gives me %50 off so i pay 10 a month for cardio and free tanning( which i havent used, but might in the future). I do my lifting at home.

Anytime. More free weights and better equipment

Planet Fitness is trash. There's a reason half the people that walk in there are fat.

I had a PF membership for a couple of years. Honestly PF gets more shite than it really deserves. You can go there and get a decent workout. The "no judgement" philosophy is great for getting overweight people to go. It can be looked at as a great place for people beginning to change their lives. Sure, the pizza and donuts days are ridiculous, but I never at a single donut or slice of pizza while I was a member.
No, it's not really great for advanced lifters. But your average person, even amateur body builders, can go there and get a good workout in. That said, if you want complex barbell movements, it is not a place for you. Deadlifts, squats, bench, and Oly movements are all off the table unless you want to do them on smith machines (which is not recommended by most experts)
I had a membership to Snap Fitness for several years, and like everyone else said.. it varies from location to location. My favorite one is the old on on Lee Dr. in BTR.. has a little crossfit room with bumper plates, rings, bars, battle ropes, tires, etc. Only issue with that one for me was how far it is from my house and how crowded it got at times.

I’ve done all 3 and anytime is my personal preference and where I’m a current member. I’m traveling constantly and they’ve got gyms everywhere so it’s great for me, but if you’re someone that usually works out at one particular gym I’d check it out because they’ve got a few that are pretty small/limited.

I go to PF from time to time. I live down the street from one and I have a permanent guest pass. Its a decent gym but if you're looking to lift heavy, it's better to find something else.

I used planet fitness to prove to myself that I could go to the gym consistently enough to pay for a real gym.

I use Planet Fitness for cardio and moderate weights. I'm not really looking to get big or anything though, just stay in shape. I go to a country club for golf and tennis but if I had to drive 20 minutes to get to a treadmill I'd never go run so the $10 a month is worth it for me

Anytime really varies from gym to gym. The one by my house is nice, new, spacious. The one by the office...not as much. But the convenience of having one by my house and the office can’t be beat.

Snap and anytime are your best bet. I would just go in and try both locations closest to you and pick based on the equipment/layout.
Planet fitness doesn’t have squat racks and they feed members pizza while they workout.
