#1 seed. Lost in the first round to #32 seed. This had to be one of the biggest choke jobs of all time.

The furthest that they have ever gone in the school's 100+ year history is the quarterfinals. Granted, there was a long stretch when football was an afterthought at St. Paul's. Nevertheless, it still amazes me how poorly St. Paul's has performed in the playoffs in recent years after so many great regular season performances.

Yeah I was a sophomore at SPS that year. That game sucked arse.

I seem to recall in '82 or '83 .... Teurlings had a season without allowing a point....only to lose to John Curtis in the final. Think it was 26-8.

Think Jed and Jay Hebert were on that team.

First team I thought of

They were loaded. I remember them having that black and white running back duo.
They got upset in the dome.

Not only that, they had a power rating of 16.078, which is almost unheard of.

Crazy.

Their non-district wins were pretty impressive:

Handedly defeated 4A state runner up, Karr, 38-7.

Defeated returning 5A state champ, Acadiana.

Decisively beat McDonogh 35, who made it to the 4A quarterfinals that year.

Shut out Salmen, another 4A playoff team.

Then, their closest district game was against Covington, which they won 31-7. They also beat Mandeville, a team that reached the 5A semifinals, by a score of 48-14.

On top of all of that, they were gifted a very nice draw in the playoffs, which all but destined them for a semifinal matchup against West Monroe.

It's unbelievable that they lost to 4-5 Central in the first round.

Hudl had just really hit the scene. St. Paul’s offensive tendencies based on formation, down and distance were unbelievably predictable.

I always thought so when I played there.

I believe they would have won that game if the QB does not break his leg in the 4th qrt. of the game. They were leading 6-0 until that happened.

1996 Abbeville Wildcats

best 4 loss team in state history, and gave John Curtis a good game at Wildcat Stadium.

Kevin Dukes ran wild all night.

That defense was ridiculous. I think they allowed 4 or 5 PPG and the defense scored more points than they allowed (defense was also the punt return unit). That includes playoffs. Katrina happened and the game had to be played in Shreveport. Redemptorist won like 13-7 or something like that.

Iota back in the early 2000s had just won state in 2A, then came back the next year to whip up on everyone else again, but somehow got beat in the Dome by freaking Farmerville!

2014 Warren Easton. Tyron Johnson at WR and Deshawn Capers Smith at QB. They were good. They also had plenty of other really good football players on that team. Btw, does anyone know what happened to Deshawn Capers Smith? I knew he was committed to A&M but after high school I never heard about him

Dalton was amazing on that team along with Kevin Butler at RB........

Hilliard and Butler both had about 1000 yds. by game 5 of the season. I cannot think of another Louisiana RB duo quite like that.

That's impressive.

He let a sure-fire INT go through his hands and into the hands of a UCLA WR late in the game, as the Aggies chocked away a win in week 1.

ETA: He plays DB now.

I remember Broadmore bearing nationally ranked John Curtis in early 90’s. Best team in the state in any division and lost to little Broadmore.

Ouachita Lions 1993 and 1994. Teams loaded with talent and won nothing.
