2001 St Aug

If memory serves me correct, beat a good Airline team, Hahnville @ their house, and Evangel in in Shreveport until ultimately losing to West Monroe in the semis.

'm sure there were some 5A , Evangel - West Monroe , match ups where both teams were great.

2001 WM was undefeated and beat Evangel 38-17 in the regular season only to lose to Evangel 34-27 in the Dome.

That was 2002. St Aug beat Evangel in 2001

The Catholic league was loaded that year

Rummel was the 2 seed
St aug had like 14 D-1 prospects
Shaw made it to the dome

The Catholic league was insane that year. De La Salle even had a couple guys that eventually went pr.

Rummel was loaded. Aug lost to them with the district championship on the line on an game ending failed 2pt conversion.

Yep. Man he was a stud and fast as lightning. With the playoff run Aug made that year, I thought they were unstoppable... and then came W. Monroe.

That was the most dominant front 7 I have ever seen live.

eem to recall in '82 or '83 .... Teurlings had a season without allowing a point....only to lose to John Curtis in the final. Think it was 26-8. Think Jed and Jay Hebert were on that team.

Game was at Pan-Am I believe, don’t think it was finals though. Had a cousin on that Teurlings team ( a Judice), told the relatives they wouldn’t beat Curtis. The Rebels fans were in shock the way they were whipped.

2012 Barbe with Trey Quinn, Desean Smith and company

I agree. Also the Barbe team in the 86 and 87 seasons were great. They had some studs

Actually Ehret lost in the semi-finals to Barbe who lost to East St John in the finals.

Ehret took state the following year (1981).

Easton Roth was one of my favorite coaches in La. HS Football, and that was a horrible first round draw for an undefeated Rummel team.
