Was Moore not Chief Justice of the Supreme Court in Alabama?

Sheesh.

I wasn't looking to make this a bash Huntsville thread.

I mean, we still elected Mo Brook for crying out loud.

It was about as dumb a comment as the guy's reason for supporting Moore was to preserve the Supreme Court. It worked really well exposing the useful idiot.

Yes. He was removed as chief justice for refusing to follow the ruling of the USSC in regards to same sex marriage.

And he was Removed BEFORE that by wasting taxpayer’s money on the Ten Commandments monument against the wishes of the rest of the Alabama Supreme Court.

Fortunately our government has checks to prevent people from abusing power. However, Alabama voters have proven that they care about other things more than abusing power, so he might win again.

It was the electronic record, not the actual ballots. The ballots are preserved for a short time in case of a recount. Recounts are done by hand.

Thanks - I didn't pick that up from the things I read about it.

Course, if he wins, I wouldn't recommend Jones buy any property in DC.

I've said it before...it will be far easier to get rid of Jones in two years than it will be to get rid of Moore.

This should be a slam dunk win for the Republican, but it's not. And it's not because Jones is a great politician.

Which is why one could argue that at the same time it should be a slam dunk for the Democrats. If there was a moderate, Democrat like Joe Manchin running...one who would support Trump's SCOTUS picks...Moore would be toast.

Yep

This is a pretty quirky area politically.

Huntsville is quirky in damn near everything when it comes to the rest of the state.

I had a girl I met once in NY fly down to visit me in Huntsville. She had never been in the south. After a day, she was surprised because Huntsville seemed pretty much like any other mid-sized city she had been to in the northeast.

So I took her to Greenbriar Grill. The old one.

Did she wonder why there's a clear bag of water hanging by the door?

Did you guys get the old lady who's meaner than a snake for a waitress?

Where I work and live, I’ve been surprised by the amount of Jones signs. This is coming from Vestavia, Mountain Brook, and Homewood. Maybe the moore crowd is silent but then again I wouldn’t admit to voting for him either.

Exactly. Driving my child to school through a part of Vestavia, I counted about a dozen Jones signs this morning. Most of them were put up in the past couple of weeks. Then again, no one would admit to supporting Roy Moore, but they'll go vote for him.

I just bet a good bit on Jones winning Huntsville (Madison). I assume you mean the surrounding counties.

Moore isn’t in trouble. Alabamians know they don’t want their rights taken away. Moore is a lock to win tonight. Jones won’t even come close.
