Harrowing footage captured the moment he let go, plunging 45ft on to a terrace below where his body was later found by a window cleaner.

I can't imagine finding the body, there's no way it's all still in one piece.

Window cleaner probably thinking, "Nope, I'm not cleaning that up."
Imagine the mess if he'd fallen the entire way down to street level.

Article says he died from falling 45 feet to terrace below. Not quite as thrilling as a 62 story (620 feet) fall

Damn that’s actually worse. At 45 feet, he probably did not die instantaneously and maybe could have survived if he’d been brought to a hospital. Instead he probably broke most of the bones in his body and lay there in agony

You better know the exact number of pull ups that you're capable of before you hang yourself off the side of tall building and start doing reps.
Personally, I find it difficult to sympathize with someone in this situation who is blatantly trying to cheat death. Yeah, it's tragic that someone dies but I'm surprised that there haven't been more of these articles since rooftopping began. Free climbers die all the time.

You know next time I bet he’ll remember to wear shoes that have a bit stickier soles!

Lol what a dumb comment. There is a huge difference between being skinny like this guy, and being skinny and ripped like those guys are.

good analogy - I get what you’re saying, but tbh i wasn’t really moved much when shazier went down.. it sucks that it happened but it’s part of the game
Don’t get me wrong, it’s not like i was celebrating or anything, it just doesn’t bother me emotionally like other deaths normally would.
In fairness, your original post said the exact opposite, you said it was satisfying.

If this had happened in the US, Wu's family could have sued the owner of the building for not having a sign up that said "caution do not climb on outside of building, you could die"
and probably the USG as well.
and probably the USG as well.

Jesus tapdancing christ...the kid was trying to do pullups hanging from a flat ledge. It would be hard enough hanging from a bar, but with flat ledge, the moment he went over the side he was never coming back up. The thoughts going through his mind must not have been great.

He had quite the impact
From 45 meters up, that means dude was going about 66mph when he hit.

It'd be a Bourbon Street after Mardi Gras level mess.

I guess given that most people watch those videos to see just how close to losing their life they really are (or to see them actually lose their life). So if he's wearing a safety harness, the odds of it going viral fall big time.
Yes, I know what I did there.

but something happened with his grip or muscle spasm, etc.
He was holding onto a flat ledge, not a bar. That had more than a bit to do with it. If he was holding onto a bar or railing, he could have used the grip on his shoes to walk himself back up. But since his fingers were holding onto a flat surface, he had no leverage. Pushing against the side of the building to get back up would have slid his fingers off. The guy had no chance.
I could probably do 10 pull ups on a bar, but on a wall maybe 1 or 2 (just like this guy). The physics of this exercise were working against him. And I'm not just talking about the gravity.

Am I an a-hole for finding satisfaction in this type of shite?
Dude wanted attention and money from doing dangerous stuff and posting it online.. this is no different than thugs that get shot during a robbery, they just had it coming, it was only a matter of time
Yes, I have to say you are an a-hole for finding satisfaction in this guy's death. He wasn't hurting anybody but himself, so to compare him to some thug robbing a store who deserved to die is a bit much.
