This was the one case that was blatant murder. Dude should've been sentence a lot more time.
You'll never get a cop for murder unless it's something so egregious it's indefensible. This is bad, but there's enough gray area to cut him loose on that charge.
The cop in Texas shooting the rifle through the back of a car leaving a house party is probably the best case you'll see for murder against a cop.

What a stupid stupid thing for him to do. What was his reasoning for doing so in the first place? He panicked or what?

Why didn't he get the death penalty? Just curious but I am 20 years will be much worse than death.

Haven't seen that one.

Shooting someone in the back should be a hangable offense
Posted on 12/7/17 at 12:00 pm to GetCocky11
Just think - He could have just stopped running.
Posted on 12/7/17 at 12:04 pm to GetCocky11
Don't run and you won't get shot.

It wasn't that long ago where cops could freely shoot at someone fleeing from them.
Witness "Its a Wonderful Life" where the cop shoots at Jimmy Stewart as he runs away. This reflected the police practice at the time.

He got off easy. Should have been life.

Can't wait for the peace

Not necessarily. What if the guy had been armed, shot at cops, and was fleeing towards a school?
But none of that happened in this case. This cop got what he deserved.
Still would’ve been better if junebug would’ve not run.

It's disgusting how many of y'all don't back the badge. The criminal was clearly fleeing from the police

Thankfully that’s no longer the case.

Yes that was murder but why was the guy running from him in the first place?
Posted on 12/7/17 at 12:18 pm to Rebel
yeah, you can find exceptions to every rule.

I thought it was ridiculous there was riots in Baltimore and Ferguson but no riot over this case?
There were outside agitators who came in after this shooting and the Emanuel AME Church shooting and tried to rile up the local community, but the local leaders told them to get the frick out.
The cop should have been given a life sentence.

South Carolinians are generally too polite to riot over politics. The Confederates and Black Separatists even held a rally to denounce riots and violence.

so running from the police is punishable by death?
