alks between Disney and 21st Century Fox are heating up with a deal between the two media giants possibly getting done by next week, CNBC reported.

That's because in addition to Fox's movie and television studio, FX networks and Hulu, Disney would reportedly also assume control of Fox's 22 regional sports networks, which include both Fox Sports Ohio and SportsTime Ohio.

Fox would keep their national sports stuff but all the regional networks would shift to ESPN control.

This is the best move ESPN has made in awhile.

So all the people that jumped ship from espn will be subject to new round of Layoffs. I find this darkly comical.

The regional cable rights have been a cash cow. Baseball local ratings are usually pretty damned good and hold the audience well. I jut can't help but think that ESPN is going to frick it up somehow though.

Just as long as the Pelicans can keep Joel Meyers, David Wesley, & Jen Hale as the broadcast team

Best in the Association

Hmm...not sure what would change with FSN Midwest here. This could be good if I got to see more Elle Duncan or Katie Nolan, but I somehow doubt that would happen.

I loved Joel Meyers on the old FSN Big 12 games. And the one year he did Cardinals radio. Easily one of the most underrated announcers in the business. Jen Hale is worth looking at as well.

I wonder will they use this to build a Big 12 network and reel them back in?

I dont think a conference network would work in the B12.

And I dont think it's needed for its survival either.

As long as UT and OU are happy.

I don't get this. ESPN is dying and Fox is growing.

Fox, please just take over ESPN.

No doubt Texas is happy with their Longhorn Network. But is Oklahoma?

Yay monopolies.

ESPN is only going to get worse without competition.

For sure.

They're going to have all black crew that talks about nothing but race bait during the games.
