Suddenly now that responsible parents, Wall Street, and creators of jobs are being freed from the chains of taxation, the libs care about the federal deficit.
It's our time to party now, bitches!

And "conservatives" show they don't give a shite about it.

More like conservatives don’t give a shite about a static analysis of the deficit.

Conservatives know that GDP growth needs to be above 3% in order for the Fed Govt to pay its bills 5 to 10 years down the road. That is where we are right now. Obama era growth of 1.5% won't cut it. Grow the economy then cut spending.
Please grasp your small hands around that.

correct, frog.
but because DJT has chosen to do things in this order (fix economy then move to spending), the dems will have no choice but to get in bed with spending cuts.
right now dems "...the deficit..." blah blah
tax reform passes. now introduce spending cuts to "...help the deficit". Dems will go dizzy trying to talk their way out of NOT cutting spending now.
It seems so simple, but I cannot ever remember a political beat down like this.

Brilliant strategy by Trump.

Good. Let's spell it out.
1.4 trillion over 10 years. (static modeling) So let's be real here... BS
Worst case, 140 billion a year.
Anybody want to take a gander at what the yearly deficit was under Obama?
I'll wait.

And not a one of the esteemed MSM ever asks about the 10 TRILLION actual debt $$$ racked up by Obama in 8 years, but are apoplectic at the thought of a static analysis predicting 1.5 trillion in 10 years.
Not even I would have predicted that the DEMs would go there - I figured they'd be content with "starving children" as their basic move.
Going after the debt??? ===== that is called absolute desperation.

They only care about it to point out the hypocrisy of Republicans that claim to care about it when there's a Dem president.
Same as it ever was. Neither side cares about the deficit. Dems were stupid to cave to R deficit concerns under Clinton and Obama. R's just used those savings both times to pass massive tax cuts, though this one is not yet official.

Eh not really. Conservatives are usually in favor of tax cuts no matter what the deficit is. The deficit is what it is because of spending. The gov't currently collects more tax revenue than ever before.
Usually Dems are against tax cuts because it hurts the gov't's ability to spend more and/or fund different programs. Rarely do you hear them bring up the deficit.
Interestingly they're all of a sudden bringing up the deficit as their main argument against the cuts, which in my mind is a good sign because they don't have many other talking points when it comes to this tax bill.

You must have missed the lib poster who said the perfect GDP was on the low side of 2%

I’m not going to pretend to care about the deficit, but if we are going to add 1 and a half trillion onto the debt over the next few years, I’d rather the breaks go to the lower/middle class instead of trying trickle down from the top again. GOP gonna GOP though.

No one cares about the deficit, it is just a talking point for those not in power to attack those in power.
Every conservative that said the deficit is important is a hypocrite today. Every Dem who changes their tune when they have the office is also a hypocrite.
