That's how Dave Schultz made it sound. But what I took from it was he wanted to have a fullback in the system. On short yardage plays having a single back with no one leading the way seems to be the problem O is having. I also feel the same way, Have someone leading the back. Could also be an option for a fullback drive or a fullback there to push the quarterback on quarterback sneaks. When fournette was here, his favorite player was the fullback.

As long as we find a pro style QB, I'm more than happy going back to a pro style offense. Obviously the former is extremely difficult to do in todays age, but we had one of the best offensive season ever running pure pro style in 2013 (and a ton of talent on that side of the ball).

He's destined to frick this up. I have zero doubts that he botched that Troy game. He had his buddy Ensminger heavily involved in the play calling during that atrocious first half. Canada had the reigns in the second half. You could just tell by the play calling.

O is going to switch to that offense that we saw last year. It was okay for a little bit given the quality of teams we played. However, once we played a team that could field a good defense (Alabama, Florida) - we were atrocious.

O can't get out of his own way...

Btw this is coming from mike detillier a close friend of O.

I don't care who he is friends with, detillier is an idiot. Puts his foot in his mouth daily. Thought BYU would be a tough game.

Just a good ole boy in local radio.

O said he meddled too much in the offense so apparently he did more than he should and it was a detriment to the team

That was the most frustrating thing. As a fan, I never felt more duped than that.

That was the main thing he referenced while politicking for the LSU job. While at Ole Miss, he said micro-managed every single aspect of the team to their (and his) detriment. Orgeron said he learned and grew from that experience and was going to let his coaches coach.

Honestly, if there is one place Orgeron doesn't need to be meddling in, it's the offense.

O is dumb. Pro style ain't working again in college without elite talent at all positions.

O needs to stfu. He's doing exactly what he said he wouldn't when he got the job. We would have been better off with Canada or Aranda as the HC. Seeing all of these hiring searches really brings back painful memories and pisses me off.

LSU has athletes that can run a variety of offenses. The problem is that when you focus too much on film study and not enough on actually practicing plays (which is what O pushed), you are going to struggle, especially early on.

O's plan/strategy on how to run the program made things worse then they really needed to be.

He knows almost nothing about offense, yet people want to blame Canada when O interferes and he gets pissed. O sounds like a guy that knows he didn't deserve this job and feels he has to prove himself again. That isn't a shocker.

The gumps stuffed the frick out of Ensminger’s offense with Fournette and Guice.

Wonder how they’ll do against Brossette and CEH?

We used a fullback a lot this year. Just because he wasn't lined up in the I doesn't mean anything.

Tory carter and JD Moore played a lot of football this year.

I 100% support this. There is a reason that the most advanced league in the sport of football deploy "pro style" offenses. It is because they work the best against great athletes and defenses. There are many styles of pro offenses. Take a look at the balance of the Patriots, Steelers, Seattle, Philly, etc., We should be running a form of PRO, and not the stuff of Canada -- who needs to go.

If he wants to go back to 3 yards and a cloud of dust then he needs to be replaced asap! He will never beat Saban with that offense.

I think a lot of non-offensive coaches revert back to that type of offense because that's all they understand. If he don't understand how and why our offense works now them he is the one that needs to be showed the door. We would have a losing record and got blowed out by Bama with DE at qb in a prostyle offense this year.

our offense only began to work this year when the players got comfortable with all of the shifts and their roles. for the first time in a LONG time, our plays were not uber predictable and we made first downs via passes to TE's and RB's and ran the wildcat successfully. we demolished the aggie defense BECAUSE they sold out to the run and stacked the box and Etling burned them.

if we go back to pro style only, we are in trouble. this years offense was just getting going and our red zone problems were greatly improved.
