I see what you're saying.

It's definitely confusing, we'll see what happens.

Auburn needs to get lose and lose badly
We need to crush A&M

If both of those happen and we fall in the top 15 ahead of auburn then there might be a chance.

I know people like to speculate, but we have to win the A&M game. A&M players will look at this 2 ways. Save his job, or worry about that new coach. We need to jump on them early and put it to bed before half time.

Does playing in Jerry World game 1 of next year affect the descision? Meaning sellling tickets and travel to same destination in what is ultimately consecutive games.

I think it does. Despite records and rankings the committees still let optics and logistics factor in. I doubt they put LSU in the Cotton if they start next season there. Outback is most logical.

My outside hope is Michigan beats Ohio State and LSU plays tOSU at the Outback. That would be a quality matchup.

LSU will not get selected over Auburn, no matter how bad they lose to Bama. Head to head means very little to this committee; just see PSU over OSU last year.

our head to head victory counts, just like their's counted last year which sent them to the Sugar Bowl.

It was their better record, far more so than their head to head win, that sent them to the Sugar Bowl ahead of us last year. If we had beaten Florida and had the same record (or the same number of losses) as Auburn, we would have gone to the Sugar Bowl.

Cotton Bowl???

Doesn't the Cotton Bowl get the top SEC team that isn't in the CFP? If so, I would have to guess any of Alabama, Georgia and Auburn would go ahead of us, unless Georgia loses to Georgia Tech and loses again in the SECCG.

As far as bowls are concerned, yes I do. If Bama beats Auburn, Bama will win the west and play UGA for the SEC championship.
Well, you are simply wrong

Sec bowl picks are tied into the college football playoff rankings. Us being second in the west will hold zero weight, and auburn will still be ranked ahead of us

Very simple guys, higher ranked team in the CFP rankings goes. Matchups, travel, etc etc don't matter

True. However, if we beat A&M and Auburn loses, we'll be 2nd in the West because of the head to head with Auburn.

That doesn’t matter, it’s the playoff rankings

There is only ONE way this happens. We embarrass the Aggies and Bama has to do the same to AU. If this happens the committee has to consider three things:

1. We are second in the West, AU three
2. We won the head to head
3. We played Bama much closer (and on the road at that)

That my friends will get us past AU imo.

Do you think it matters if we finish second? Auburn will still be ahead of LSU because of the playoff rankings and thats what decides what bowl you go to.

you can’t use rational thinking with O pumpers.
They think MSU skull dragging LSU and the mighty men of Troy getting whipped by USA is “normal” and won’t hurt.

LSU is going to get what it deserves even IF they can somehow beat TAMU.

The only thing that makes us unattractive is the fact that we open there next year.

They will never not love LSU in that stadium. So many LSU people here and it's close enough for people to travel from Louisiana too.

2010 ended by beating TAMU in Jerruh world, then opened the next year there vs Oregon.
