Lower corporate income tax, repatriate offshore funds for no fee, give companies incentives to create jobs here.

The added economic boom will raise tax revenue without having to cut.

A problem, but nowhere near the biggest problem.

Try again.

Needs to be done, but a drop in the bucket. Try again.

You can decide which 100 billion increment fits your worldview, and stress than one.

There will be more than a dozen to choose from

Reduce all government to three essential functions:
1. Punish Crime
2. Enforce contracts
3. Defend the constitution against all enemies foreign and domestic.

Eliminate all other government functions until national debt is zero.

Go back to how the commerce clause was defined prior to the Great Depression.

We probably need to pull back on the Pacific just for troop safety.

Freeze spending for 10 years (including the suspension of baseline budgeting). At semi-recent estimates that would be a spending cut of ~$1.3T in 6 years.

what is on the chopping block? 1 trillion cut over ten years seems like a reasonable initiative. What things would you personally cut if given the power?

10% from all federal budget areas across the board.. including military. Let them figure out what works best for them. EPA receives $100? Well, for the next 10 years they're getting $90. Military receives $10,000? They get $9k.

Chop it up evenly. Limited resources breed innovation. Every government organization (and even most private companies) on this planet could make it with 10% less if they put in a little bit of effort.

Reduce welfare fraud. One thing that can be done is to require a government-issued photo ID to be shown whenever an EBT card is used. If I have to present an ID whenever I use a credit card, why doesn't the same apply to EBT cards?

If I were a Supreme Court Justice, I would include a clause stating I would overturn Wickard v. Filburn in every decision.

Truth be told, the only way to out spending that will reduce the deficit is massive reforms to SS,Medicare, Medicaid, and the DOD. Any "solution" that does not address those 4 primary drivers of budget growth is like bandaging a gun shot with bits of toilet paper.

If any proposal doesn’t touch Medicare, Social Security, or defense, throw it in the trash.

Those three are 3/4ths of the federal budget. Defense was cut fairly significantly in both absolute and real terms (and as a percentage of federal spending) during the Obama admin (down to about 16% of the federal budget), yet overall spending still outpaced inflation.

So that leaves...

Hold war/defense budget as is. No inflation increase for 10 years. No increase at all.
