Going to put some new line on 5 reels this week and curious as to what is the OB's preference on type of line and test?? Fishing mostly in marsh areas either on the bottom or under a popping cork.

15-20lb braid with a 20lb leader.
Read your rod and see whats the max lb line it can handle. That rod will break before the braid if you go too big and get down on a big red

30lb braid, either Fins Windtamer or Power Pro, with a 30lb flouro leader.

Suffix 832, 40 lb test. Usually buy the 300 yrd spool and put about 75 yards on 4 reels with backing.

I like 20lb on my spinning reels and 30lb for baitcasters (cuts down backlash). I switched most of my reels to PP braid due to the fact that I don't have to switch out the line for a long time.
I like mono better than braid for jigging on the bottom but wouldn't worry about it unless you have a rod for just that purpose.

20Lb Power Pro Super Slick 8 on spinning reels
30lb Power Pro Super Slick 8 on casting reels- helps to not dig into itself when drag is pulled

30# braid I find anything smaller in a braid is a tangling and knotting nightmare to deal with but I also have old eyes. I'd be sure to use a couple layers of mono backing also.

I was using 20# power pro braid. But it is so damn thin it will get caught in split rings and knots are a bitch to untangle. Bumped up to 30# and it helped significantly. Plus you get more miles out of a spool since it is thicker. shite is expensive and the tiny diameter of smaller strength braids just takes too much to fill up a reel.
Go 30# power pro and don’t look back. No need to use a shock leader and the line won’t go bad so quickly like mono does.

This. I had a big problem with the line digging really bad on a Bait caster with 20lb as well. 30 has been solid.
