Going up with 5 friends looking for a good tailgate to hook onto. I saw Calhoun’s but they don’t allow cooking with gas . Anyone know of a good spot?

Not much tailgating room on the campus itself as the year after their NC, they raised the rates, significantly, to park/tail gate on the campus itself. Prepare for a long walk, all uphill for the most part. There are a few parking lots next/near Calhoun's & I remember some small pits there. Nothing like you see at LSU, though. Best bet is to go out Friday nite & meet up with some Vols & get their advice. But other than the Vol Navy, there is nothing up there like LSU's.

Most people just hit the bars and resturants....except for the river most tailgating was kinda sad last time I went...nothing like at LSU

Hope the team can all of a sudden transition to playing in cold temps or it might be trouble up there...........

driving up an RV with some buddies, will likely park at the coliseum as the tailgating scene looks pretty weak.

Stock and Barrel is awesome and will be crowded it’s a very small restaurant maybe 60 seats max .
There are several restaurants in Market Square area as well as Gay Street corridor. Free parking in lots located behind Gay Street too and there is an elevated walk that takes you right to where the Regal Movie Cinema is on Gay St.
Also Balter Beerworks is a great place not far away from campus area
Sweet Ps BBQ location downtown
Elkmont Exchange is a new brewery only recently opened have no idea what it’s like but it looks nice

More sad this year sue to losses, campus will probably be empty for the most part as it was for Homecoming 2 weeks ago. I was able to drive into campus at 4:30 to drop my husband off. He caught an Uber home for 5 bucks no surge pricing!!!!

There are five of us coming down from Philadelphia that are looking for a tailgate party and we all know LSU knows how to do it better than UT. Anyway... I am a part owner in a start-up company specializing in tailgating and would like to meet up for a few drinks and share ideas. Here is a link to our site, but please let me know where it's goin' down. Thanx.

They do have a Canes on campus...just saying.

I saw empty parking lots belonging to businesses that sell parking for the game. The Uber no surge pricing for the ride home I think says it all. Fans donated tickets to schools and the like on elementary school was given 250 tickets and 60 parking passes. That’s a lot of parking passes because UT has very limited on campus parking.
