Do you think Bobby Petrino would be a possibility for Florida or Tenn?

His AD who hired him just got axed in the other slimes' affairs. I've heard the Florida scenario but not TN. Too dicey?

Great coach in a lot of ways but not a great recruiter and he tends to leave dumpster fires in his wake when he leaves/gets shitcanned

I doubt they give him a look

Would be an upgrade over Butch, but I hope we don't call him. I'd honestly take Kiffin over him

I'm certain he (through his agent) will express interest in other jobs now that his AD is gone. You have to remember, Jurich overlooked all the Arkansas stuff to hire Petrino, who is not universally liked, for a second time. A new AD may not give him as much rope as the old AD did.
If anything, he'll be a fall back for one of the SEC schools. Not the first choice.

At his age, and with his track record, that's fair.
I get the feeling Bobby Petrino could have been a great college coach if he didn't spend half his career aiming his guns squarely at his feet.

He’s the same age as Saban when he took the Bama job. If anything he is just entering his coaching prime.

This isn't the same Petrino. Petrino today is more laid back and seems happy just to be getting a check

Our BOT wouldn't touch him and tbh, he's not as good as he once was.

Y'all have to think that at this point a can of soup on the sidelines would be an upgrade over Butch.

I think the wreck and getting fired made him lose something that he hasn't gotten back. He doesn't seem to have that same fire anymore. It's one thing to be reviled when you leave one job for another as he did when he bolted from Atlanta, but it's another to be publicly humiliated in front of the sports world.
The oddity is that he could've been an elite college football coach, but he was his own worst enemy. Whether it was underhandedly vying for the Auburn job while Tuberville was still employed there, leaving Louisville when he'd just signed a 'lifetime' contract, or hiring his mistress and lying about it, he's always been his own career's worst enemy.
What's crazier still is that he's never had a head coaching job anywhere longer than 4 years, and the Jurich firing and Lamar Jackson inevitably going pro set the table perfectly for him to leave Louisville again...after year 4. From what I've seen of from the Cardinal boards, their fans are already somewhat steeling themselves for the fallout that always seems to happen when he leaves a program. It happened at Louisville, it happened at Arkansas, and it may very well happen at Louisville again. However, if I'm an AD, I'm extraordinarily leery of bringing in Petrino, the baggage he carries, and the prospects of my program falling apart when he inevitably leaves before year 5.

I would think some teams atleast call him . Doesn’t seem like a lot of proven coaches available right now . I would prefer Kiffin because he is much better recruiter but Petrino should be on the top 10 list .

He should be at the top of UT's list. However, I do think he's slipping a bit, but a new job would be a fresh start for him.

I wouldn't let that guy take out my trash. He's a bum.

No school is going to pay his buyout.

His buyout is a lot smaller now with Tommy turtleneck gone. He still has name potential, which seems to be what UT is looking for.

Petrino would be lethal at Florida. Dude has baggage, but he would kill it at UF. That’s a scary thought to me. Spurrier 2.0
