A lot of suicidal people, in their depressed and warped mind, think it’s the opposite of selfish. They think they’re doing the world and those in it a favor.

If I lost a child and had no other kids, I’m not sure I’d be able to live on.

Also people suffering with terminal illness are exempt from judgement IMO. I’d definitely kill myself in that case and I think it should be a legal right.

Anyone who responds this way to a suicide is a fricking idiot.

Very glad this was the first response. That "it's selfish" response burns me the frick up irl.

Because it's more complex than that. How many different ways do you need to be told?

fricking gold.

I don’t see why. I understand that people do feel that way, and even how they may feel that way. But I can’t imagine having to actually deal with it.

Either way, at its face value, suicide - in most cases - is the most ultimately selfish decision anyone could make. But I would never respond to one by saying that.

You can't tell me anything. I've lived it. It's selfish.

If you lived it and still have that opinion, I feel sorry for you.

I've lived it too btw

my ex committed suicde by overdose earlier this year, late july. and honestly i still have not mentally accepted it. we weren't even dating anymore and it hurts, bad. I cared about her.

i know why she did it but i still think it's selfish. she has a son and she has people who loved her. She wnated shite her way or the high way. When she couldn't have it her way with no reprecussions she decided to commit suicide.

outside of my family i would give anything for her to walk through the door right now and raid my fridge again

Always been my opinion that I can't judge the pain of another other than my own.

Karl Childers actually has a quote that means something to me

quote:

That Frank, he lives inside of his own heart. That's an awful big place to live in.

The heart and mind in all of us is infinite. Some pain goes way beyond our comprehension sometimes.

Because you have no idea the mental state that drives someone to think that the world would be better off without them.

People like you rush to judge them negatively instead of having compassion. It's a horrid mental state I wouldn't wish on anyone, and certainly not react in condemnation.

I can fully understand a parent who commits suicide following the death of a child. I don’t think I could go on living if something were to happen to my son.

If a person has progressed to that point, I doubt they care about your approval.
