Considering Catalonia's declaration of independence... how long until Texas does?

(I know this is very unlikely but it's worthy of a good conversation.)

If Texas ever did secede, what states would become part of Texas?

Texas has been preparing for the possibility. They even use their own power grid and claim to be self sufficient with energy.

California's economy is bigger than Texas'. As a stand alone it is somewhere around eighth in the world.

Why would people want Texas or California to leave? We should get rid of worthless states like Mississippi who only contribute to obesity and illiteracy rates.
