Texas should split into 5 states.
They would have 10 senators.
In high school i heard they got the right to split up into as many as 5 states when tex republic came into union.

Crazy part is Collin County will pass Dallas County in population in the next 20years.

Collin county really is in a bubble unlike anywhere else in the country. High median income, bulk of residents are under 45yrs old, large majority have a bachelor's degree or higher, and low cost of living. Add to that it has the $8 Billion dollar mile for sports areas.

It's no wonder corporations and people are flocking to the area.

Collin county is so much more residential than Dallas county though. Neighborhoods on neighborhoods. It's primary purpose is for people to live there and most likely work in Dallas county.

No, because the illegals are bleeding them dry. They are heavily dependent on government funding.

You must not be familiar with the actual Catalonia situation. There will be no independence any time soon.

Pretty sure California gives more in taxes to the federal government than it receives in federal funding.

California has the longest mainland coastal border. Did your article ever consider national defense spending, specifically related to California, in determining how many dollars California receives in benefits? If so, please provide the study. Otherwise, you’re full of shite.

Two things here. California, as a whole, will never secede from the Union. A small area, similar to Catalonia, could secede from California. This would most likely occur in the northern region. I’m not sure of all the steps they would have to take in California to pull it off, but it is possible and unlikely.

Texas is not that far away from seceding. I believe most of this border wall discussion will have a big impact on whether this will ever happen. There’s s minimal chance, but Texas has the means and economy to successfully do it. Texas has their own military already. It could easily provide for its own defense as long as the U.S. didn’t try to take it over.

As far as how many states would go along, it depends on the President. I don’t see Texas starting anything in the near future.

They tried it in 1861. General Grant and the Yankees whipped their arse and made them stay in the union. There are a few books and movies about it.

California is no where near self sufficient as a state. They can't even produce drinking water for themselves.
