That we have a lot of low IQ people out there and decided to address things with expectations explicitly based on IQ?

Leave the race thing out of this. We have a LOT of low IQ people per capita of all races.

I don’t think James Madison and the boys had a clue about this kind of circumstance.

I too question the wisdom of universal suffrage.

IQ isn't the be all end all

An IQ score tells you how well you do on an IQ test, it doesn't tell you how you'll function in society

Shouldn't the way IQ is computed mean that we have just as many high IQ people as low IQ?

Yeah, they had no idea welfare shite was going to happen, they expected stupid people to get weeded out through natural selection. Welfare throws a monkey wrench into that shite.

Oh no? Why do you think they pushed a weak central government? Understanding of the common man's ignorance was also part of why the Electoral College was created for electing the President instead of a straight majority vote.

They knew. We've forgotten.

Not really. In many ways, it's what the dialogue is about now:

Conservatives: people need to be free to make their own choices

Liberals: there are a lot of dumb people out there, we need to care for them. That means govt programs.

Cons: Govt makes life more complex with an alphabet soup of govt agencies and regulations and a complicated tax system to pay for it. How is that supposed to help?

Liberals: you have no heart, you bastard!

Cons: you have no brain, you moron!

Plenty of high IQ types are completely social retards and possess the common sense of a rock.

As another stated, IQ is not the end all be all.

Simple, only people who pay taxes vote. If you are on govt assistance you lose your vote till you are off of it

I feel like who you’re describing are what Aristotle considered “natural slaves” which seem to be a perpetual subclass of people that exist in a society that for whatever reason are able bodied but can not seem to figure out how to help themselves and need someone else to help them help themselves.

If this group of people are only beneficial to be pandered to as a voting block and don’t really contribute anything positive to their society, then it can make sense for them not to have a say in elections.

The difficulty lies in determining what criteria is used to identify them, and where to draw the line.

The problem I see is there's way too many dumbasses who don't know they're a dumbass. Don't know if making some policy requiring everyone to take an IQ test and then let the results be public record so we can identity all the dumbasses would help, but it's a start.

You need a 4th grade reading level to be a welder.

You need 15+ years to be a plastic surgeon to give a transsexual man boobs.

Who has the higher right to vote?
