2 British coins found dated 1600’s
Pulling chunks of metal up from 165 ft down. Where’d that come from?

Interesting episode so far.

Good ole government is being a pain in the arse.

I think if they were going to find something serious this season they would have put the government interference in just before they pull it up or partially dig it out. Right before the climax. And then claim the government stopped them right there....
The fact they didn't do this is an indication nothing really exciting is found this year.
hope i'm wrong

It sounds like they're getting ever closer to finding the original Money Pit. In the preview for next week they seemed pretty excited about it.

18th century pottery 190 ft underground even got the archaeologist believing. It will be interesting to get the results on the bone too.

Well, the bones are human and from two different people It will be interesting to see what the carbon dating and additional analyses of the fragments might reveal. I still have not figured out how they planted all of this stuff 200 feet underground, but I'm not a genius like some people.

And it seems they have found the original Money Pit, so shite might be getting real. How the bone and pottery fragments got that far down is inexplicable. Can't wait to see how old they are.

The items coming out of their drill holes are pretty incredible. No treasure yet, but to find English pottery, and human remains almost 200 feet underground is puzzling to say the least. Adding the apparent piece of book binding in the preview for next week, increases the likelihood of the original pit as being a British job, perhaps having something to do with the privateer that lived near there around that time. This season is going to turn up more real artifacts than all the previous seasons combined it appears.

More bone and pottery last week. That cross was pretty cool too. I'm glad they decided to add more exploratory holes before wrapping up the season. They are close to the vault.

I've followed this since I was a kid - its one of those stories that sticks with you.
My fear is that whatever was in the original money pit has been completely destroyed by 100 yrs of people trying to get down there.

Yeah. At least some of it clearly has been. Looking at the preview for next week, that cross was a huge find.

I thought taking the parchment and leather to the old book expert was interesting as hell. Especially when they added in the stuff about the purple dye. All of that together is pretty good evidence that they could have something significant down there. At the least, very old.

Next episode looks very interesting. Sounds like the cross is a legit big time find.
I really hope they find something huge. Those guys deserve it with the money and effort they put into it.
They really seem genuine in their quest. It's not about some "get rich" scheme (as they are both already loaded), I think more than finding the treasure they want to find the story that's buried there. The treasure is just the icing on the cake.

This is just my ignorance I guess, but in the preview, the lady says the cross was from 1200 B.C.. What reason would someone have to make a cross like that before the time of Jesus? I mean, I know crucifixion was around way before then.

Egyptians had a very similar symbol.
This was actually what I first thought of when they found it. It looks more like this than a Christian cross.
