So I'm looking at flights to Chicago right now from MSY. I WANT to go to Game 5. Never been to a Cubs game before. I have a $375 voucher with Delta. Would be $215 from MSY to ORD one way. Gets there at 4:40. Relatively cheap flights to come back tomorrow as well. Or I could chance it and go with American to ORD and get there at 5:40 for $57 one way. Found a few tickets on StubHub. What would yall do?

Game starts at 7:08PM

Update on page 3. Tl;Dr/Dc;dr I ended up going.

Just go if you want to go. Don't go if you don't want to go.

Just a matter of preference on how much you want to spend to see the cubs lose to Kershaw

Not sure if you're familiar with baseball, but it's boring as hell. Save the money and do drugs with it.

I’m guessing you’re asking which flight to take and not whether or not you should go. Can you get from the airport to your seat in an hour and 28 minuets? That’s assuming the flight is on time.

On the other hand, is that extra hour worth another $158 to you?

Without knowing anything about that airport and it’s relation to the stadium, I’d be surprised if you’d make first pitch with the later flight.

There's one question to ask yourself. Is this a non repeatable event? If no then go.

Cubs in a futile losing effort...? Good point... that doesn’t happen often... go...

you better take a cab or an uber to wrigley, cause you will be late if you take the train from o'hare

Went for the Dead show at Wrigley in July. It took almost 2 hours to get from Ohare to our hotel which was blocks from the stadium. We finally jumped out of the cab and walked the last mile.

Give yourself plenty of time. It’s the worst traffic I’ve ever seen.

ETA: This was a Thursday @ 4pm

I've been delayed exactly once on American. I've flown them about 100 times.

I don't count taking off 10 minutes late if you still get to the gate at the promised time. Southwest does that too.

Catch an earlier flight so you're not rushing just to make it to Wrigley by game time. If you're gonna fly out for one game and shell out that kind of cash on travel and tickets, might as well get there early enough to be able to take your time and enjoy the pregame stuff too.

ETA: Don't forget that traffic from the airport to Wrigley is likely to slow you down a lot too. Rush hour traffic combined with people heading towards the game.

That's cutting it way to close for me. Any kind of delay and you're screwed
