A Russian-Indian expedition discovered two ancient ritual complexes with unique stone figures in an upper Himalayan province, said the deputy director of the Institute of Archeology and Ethnography (IAE) of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Viacheslav Molodin.
A group of Russian scientists has just discovered two ritual complexes belonging to a previously unknown civilization in the Himalayan peaks.
The findings date back to the Middle Ages say, researchers.
“Two ritual complexes have been discovered, located in a distant and elevated place in the mountains which are anything but easy to reach. About 200 horsemen statues have been found in the sanctuary, and their peculiarity is that sometimes on a horse are seated not only one rider, but two, three or four, “says Viacheslav Molodin, deputy director of the Institute of Archeology and Ethnography of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
All the sculptures are made in the same style and are richly decorated, although each one is unique. The discovery is unlike anything ever seen researchers note.

The discovery has been cataloged as sensational as we could be looking at a long-lost civilization that developed in the Himalayas.
A long lost, previously unknown civilization?
It is unclear what civilization is behind this legacy, says Molodin because nothing like it has been seen in the history of the Indian arts. “It would be a population that suddenly appeared in the Himalayas, settled in remote areas and left this trace behind,” suggests the researcher.
According to Molodin, the findings are surprising and fantastic. “It would seem that we already know everything about India, but it is actually the first time the scientific community has heard of it. There is nothing published. The finding shows that we do not know everything about the planet “, concludes the scholar in statements published by RIA Novosti.

Almost everyday we are learning that there were ancient civilizations on this planet that we previously didn't know existed.

That's pretty out in the open not to be known about. I figured this would be something they found while digging.

Looks like a civilization of gay horse riding Sherpa to me.
ETA: Bridles and reins were invented way before I thought as well. Pretty smart thinking having a way to tie them up to a post at Base Camp.

There's a fence in the background and the ground is manicured...

Those civilizations probably have a treasure trove of information on mysterious sea creatures in the San Francisco Bay area.

Where are the sea serpents though?

I knew about it, just didn't want to to tell the likes of you.
Same reason why I just mantled Big Foot's head and why I don't tell anyone that I found Shangri-La.

If American Indians weren’t so busy running casinos maybe they could make some groundbreaking discoveries. Too coddled.

Looks like it was set up to scare away trespassers. Like a fake army.

It sounds like the archeologists have a good idea about who carved them and have knowledge of this civilization.
quote:
According to experts, the authors of sculptures can be Ephtalites – a tribal association of the early Middle Ages, which created a vast state in the territory of Central Asia and Northern India. In the mountain areas where archaeologist found artifacts, still live the descendants of the warlike Rajaputas, one of the Ephtalite tribes. However, the affiliation of findings to this culture is so far only a theory.

1) Ancient History ends between 450-600AD depending on who's arguing what.
2) as someone pointed out the Hephthalites had started establishing themselves in this area after kicking out or conquering the other there. It's probably an a known group or subgroup/previously unknown location if it's authentic.
But at least there's actual evidence shown this time.

That's crazy to think about. There could be an ancient civilization right under your nose and you'd never know unless you had an archeologist

Besides the aforementioned fence and cut grass, I wouldn't believe the story simply because Russian Scientists are named in the story. As soon as I see Russian on anything I automatically assume its a fake or at best sketchy science.
